Missouri Health Chief Pledges Crackdown on Abortion Law

In a press release this week, Randall Williams, director of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, suggested that previous administrations have not complied with the 1979 Missouri law requiring abortion providers and those who treat abortion complications to report every complication they diagnose or treat after an abortion to the Department of Health and Senior Services within 45 days.

"This is unacceptable," Williams said, and the Department of Health and Senior Services has taken steps "to ensure future compliance with the law and understanding of the importance of these reports."

Planned Parenthood has claimed that they did not know about the law, however they filed suit against it after it was enacted back in 1979. Their lawsuit was denied and the statute was upheld.

You can send a "thank you" note to Dr. Williams for vowing to investigate abortion complications at the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in St. Louis.
