Mobile Photo Connect program and speaker lineup announced

Mobile Photo Connect is the leading forum where entrepreneurs, investors and senior executives gather to discuss the key technology and business issues driving the surge in mobile imaging and visual communication.

This year's event will be held on October 15 at Fort Mason in San Francisco. The event's theme "profiting in an omni-photo world" will be explored through a mix of presentations, panel discussions, and technology demonstrations:

The future of photo organizing: from manual to deep learning

With the average consumer taking and sharing more photos than ever before, finding the photos that really matter has become an overwhelming challenge for many.  The good news?  Innovative entrepreneurs are tackling this problem, using a variety of technologies, including image recognition and deep learning.  Hear their perspectives on this fast evolving field.

-Matthew Zeiler, Founder and CEO of Clarifai

-Markus Spiering, Product Chief & US GM of EyeEm

-Chris Lee, Product Manager, Photos at Dropbox

-Yi Li, CEO of Orbeus

The future of storytelling: from sharing photos to sharing experiences

More and more consumers have come to realize that sharing photos in a meaningful way has to be more than clicking through an endless collection of images.  Four innovative entrepreneurs will share their perspectives on how the visual sharing of experiences will need to evolve in the coming years, and how their companies are at the forefront of making this happen.

-Oren Boiman, Founder and CEO of Magisto

-Loren Appin, Director of Growth at Pixable

-Naren Dubey, CEO of PhotoGurus

-Mok Oh, Co-founder & CEO of Moju Labs

Executive fireside chat with Ralf Gerbershagen, CEO of Kodak Alaris

Ralf Gerbershagen, CEO of Kodak Alaris and former VP and GM of Motorola Mobility, will share his perspectives on Kodak Alaris' role in a photography world that's more and more migrating towards mobile.

The ins and outs of funding mobile photography startups

With mobile photo startups differing greatly in terms of revenues and costs models, their financial requirements also vary greatly. The results of sample interviews with companies attending the conference will be presented, and will serve as a basis for discussing the funding needs of mobile photo entrepreneurs. The panelists are not only seasoned investors, they also have a vast domain knowledge of the photo and imaging industry.

-Don Strickland, President and CEO of Strickland & Associates, adjunct professor at Imperial College London

-Rudy Burger, Managing Partner at Woodside Capital

-Evan Nisselson, Partner at LDV Capital

Special presentation by Doug Menuez, Fearless Genius: Witness to the Digital Revolution

Doug Menuez, renowned photographer and author of the Fearless Genius book and traveling exhibition, witnessed from the inside how legendary entrepreneurs including Steve Jobs, John Warnock, Charles Geschke, Samir Arora and others shaped Silicon Valley. He will share his historical images and the lessons today's photo app developers can learn from that previous generation.

The big picture: profiting in an omni-photo world

At the conclusion of an information-packed day, conference participants will engage in a no-holds barred discussion: What are the major takeaways for the future of mobile photography?  Where are the opportunities to better serve existing user needs or build solutions for needs that haven't even come to the surface? How will mobile photography progress, and how can we collectively shape this emerging industry?

-Don Strickland, President and CEO of Strickland & Associates, adjunct professor at Imperial College London

-Alexis Gerard, Founder of Future Image and 6Sight Future of Imaging Conferences

-Hans Hartman, President of Suite 48 Analytics
