Financial Support Still Needed

Because of the generosity of many of you, I've been fully supported so far this year. Some of that has been because of a large beginning of the year gift.

I'm about $5000 under pledged for the entire year. Some folks are giving without pledging and that is great, yet it would be helpful for the pledges.

Just 15 more people pledging $50 per month for the remainder of the year would cover my full support need. Won't you pray about it and consider a pledge and giving to support the Lord's work!

WHAT'S HAPPENED WITH ME
The Latest Scoop
Korey 8th Grade Grad
It's been a lot of family events and time over the last month.  I had to make a quick trip to Ohio to help prep my Dad's house to be sold. There is still much to do, but would you pray with me that we could get his house ready and sold so he can move in with my brother. I did get to the wedding of my cousin back on the farm in Wayne County, so that was a neat time connecting with family.

In addition, we had family in from Miami, a birthday for Kevin (12), Promotion from 8th grade to High School for Korey, Kayla's sweet sixteen plus all of the end of the school year festivities. Whew...

One of the opportunities coming up over the summer is to go to Momentum Youth Conference (Kayla and Korey as well) and mobilize people to pray for people groups in our world who have NO witness, and NO ONE planning to go to them.

In mission circles, there are peoples who are "unreached" which means less than 2% of the population are evangelical Christian. But more difficult are the people groups in our world with NO witness and NO one planning on going. They are called "unengaged, unreached people groups."

I had the privilege of meeting mission leader Paul Eshleman who coordinates "Finishing The Task" which keeps track of these unengaged people groups. There are 533 of these people groups in the world who have a population of more than 25,000! Won't you pray for Good to raise up workers to go to these harvest fields!
COALITIONS
Still plenty to pray for...

We are still praying and working toward a strong and effective coalition for each region of our world - Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America and North America.

Continue to pray for the coalition for the World Cup. We seek to come alongside the Brasilian Church for outreach, discipleship and church planting around arguably the largest world-wide event! Your prayers are needed for the Spirit to direct the Brasilian Church as to how He wants them to seize this opportunity. Although the World Cup isn't until June 2014, the time is short to pull this off.  Would you pray for great progress in the coming weeks?

Would you also pray for God's guidance in forming coalitions around the Unengaged, Unreached People Groups? There is great interest, but this will be some of the hardest work we've ever done.

Western Christians in Global Mission
by Paul Borthwick

Paul Borthwick's new book: Western Christians in Global Mission: What's the Role of the North American Church? is worth your time! I haven't quite finished it yet, but it's perspectives are insightful as we try to get our arms around what the North American Church can contribute while the "Majority Church" (the Church of Latin America, Africa & Asia) is growing so fast.

The end of May, I was privileged to attend of a couple of presentations with Borthwick where he went over some of the concepts he articulates further in the book. I took some notes about his top 5 challenges to Mission Agencies and to Local Churches...See my notes on my Blog
