Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this class, participants will be able to:
 

  • Describe key components of a safety program and discuss the importance of proper safety management;
     
  • Analyze your department's current structure and identify ways to improve the level of professionalism in your agency;
     
  • List at least three best practices and/or creative solutions for improving safety and professionalism in public works.
Module Two:  Promoting Professionalism  in Your Agency  & Creating a Culture of Safety 
A CT Transportation Leadership Program  Required Workshop
This module will discuss the importance of safety and professionalism in public works and will focus on how leadership is the key to success in these areas.  Individual and group exercises will be used to illustrate key concepts.  You will return to your agencies with an understanding of how to identify areas for improvement and practical strategies for enhancing your skills and those of your staff.

Training and has been teaching  for the CT T2 Center since 2002.

Mary McCarthy is the Program Manager - Educational Outreach for the CT T2 Center.

Donna Shea is the Program Director for the CT T2 Center.
