On Friday, September 16, 2016, Matthew Thorenz, Moffat Library's Head of Adult Services, accepted the Honorable Mention Award for his outstanding Lantern Tour of Washingtonville's All Faith Cemetery program at the Ramapo Catksill Library System Legislative Breakfast and Annual Meeting that took place at the Bear Mountain Inn in Tompkins Cove, New York.

Originally Matt had formulated the idea for the program  in the Fall of 2015  as a creative way of sparking interest in Washingtonville's past by combining seasonal entertainment with local history.  Village historian, Linda Standish, lent her support.  The program provided a unique opportunity to see "history in action."

The program was such a success that the library is repeating it again on Friday, October 14 @ 6:30 PM (see below for some of the cemetery inhabitants they will visit).
Congratulations, Matt!
