Tip of the Week: Incorporate Mind/ Body Exercise!   

 

What is Mind/Body Exercise?

  

 A form of exercise that combines body movement with mental focus and controlled breathing to improve strength, balance, flexibility, and overall health

  

Types of Mind/Body Exercise

  

 Yoga:  a way of living; a practice focusing on "healthy mind in a healthy body"; Intensity varies from Ashtanga (vigorous) to gentle, meditative yoga 

Pilates: developed with a focus to produce integrated movement as a whole in order to enhance core stability, peripheral awareness, and overall mobility

     

Gyrokinesis/ Gyrotonic Exercise: permits stretching and strengthening muscles, while simultaneously stimulating and strengthening connective tissues in and around the joints of the body  

 

    

YOGA
