Opening Acts
Gotta
tell you, I'm really having a blast being back with all of you!
Yesterday morning was fun, and last night we met with this
semester's Journey Group leaders and hosts at our house. We laughed
and had a great time just being together.
I gave you some assignments yesterday morning.
1. Read Acts 1 as many times as you can this week. Get really
familiar with it. We'll be exploring it next Sunday morning.
2. The second is a written assignment, whether email, paper,
however. We're asking you to add ten years to your current age
(I'll be 57, yikes!). Think through the details of your life at
that stage. Now comes the writing. Answer the question, "What kind
of church do you hope SouthField will be when you hit that
age?"
Make sure your answers talk big picture. We'll explore application
and programming later. For now, be broad. As an example, one of
mine is, "We'll need many more mature and experienced
leaders."
Have at it. We want to hear your heart; where the Spirit is moving
you. Write out what we referred to yesterday as your holy
discontentment.
Send it to me by email, snail mail, offering, place it in my
hand...whatever. Just remember, you own it, so you sign it. You're
part of the team and we want to hear from you.
Give your all this week,
Dennis
on behalf of the Lead Team
