Happy Monday, City Mission Friends! We pray that your week is filled with the love of Christ and that you are blessed through all your endeavors
The Women's Society of Holy Trinity National Catholic Church Donates

The Women's Society of Holy Trinity National Catholic Church recently organized a drive to collect toiletries and other essential hygiene items for the residents of City Mission. They also donated a large bag of homemade pierogies and presented a monetary gift. In addition, the youth of their church collected coats for our residents and community members who utilize our Samaritan Care Center. Pictured are Father Mark Swoger and the Women's Society members. Thank you, faithful and considerate donors of all ages!

Operation StrongVet

City Mission CEO/President Dean Gartland talks with Pittsburgh Steeler legend Rocky Bleier at the Operation StrongVet media launch. Operation StrongVet is a hand-picked collaborative network of regional nonprofits that assists veterans in integrating back into our communities.

City Mission is fortunate to be a member of this exciting new collaborative that helps veterans from all across our region.

Recycling Center

Did you know that City Mission recycles more than the entire city of Washington?

Through its Recycling and Donations Center, the Mission keeps over 1.5 million pounds of material from going into Pennsylvania's waste stream annually ... and provides sustainable funding for City Mission's many programs and services as well.

Pictured here are giant bales of recyclables (clothing and cardboard), ready to be transported.

During the month of December we'll be sharing some of our favorite songs that help us prepare for the celebration of the coming of Jesus.

This week's song selection is the classic "What Child is This?" covered by Christian pop artist, Mandisa. One of our favorite parts of this song is the declaration that this child that was born unto us "is Christ, the King."

Sometimes people forget that Jesus didn't just remain a baby, but he grew to a man who would take on the sins of the world --- so that we could spend eternity with God in Heaven.

Blessings,
