Losing One of Our Own

Last Tuesday, we honored the life of one of our residents who recently passed into

the arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Staff and guests remembered, laughed and cried together as they shared treasured memories of a young man who once remarked that City Mission was the only place in the world where he had ever felt safe, loved and respected. Our prayer is that we show His Love to all who come to us, battered and broken--and serve as the beacon He asks us to be in a world

where so many need His message of redemption.

Senior Staff Serving

Residents turned out in full force for the Senior Management Picnic on Friday, September 5, when senior staff cooked for and served resident guests a picnic-style meal of hamburgers, hot-dogs, salads and desserts.

Pictured here are Mary Bates, CLO, Denise M. Henning, CFO and Jerry Oxford, Director of Business Enterprises, manning the picnic grills.
Wrapped in Love

A hearty "Thank You!" to Southminster Place Senior Care resident Matilda Aloia, who recently donated 40 beautiful hand-crocheted scarves to the residents of Avis Arbor. About 4 months ago, a nurse taught several SMP residents to make the lovely accessories, and Matilda hasn't stopped yet! Everyone loves their soft texture and au courant look-thanks, Matilda!

Monday Memo Music
We Believe with Lyrics by Newsboys
We Believe with Lyrics by Newsboys
This week's Monday Music is from the Newsboys titled,
"We Believe"The lyrics say, "let our faith be more than anthems. Greater than the songs we sing." We love this song because it reflects our hope that our actions, as staff at City Mission, truly share our faith to a hurting world. Thank you, more than we can say, for generously supporting our efforts.

Sincerely,

Your Friends at the City Mission
