Ladies Golf Scramble 2014 = Success!
On Tuesday, September 9, 2014 City Mission held their 9th Annual Ladies Golf Scramble. This event has been held at the Fort Cherry Golf Club since 2006. At 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, 140 ladies headed on to the course, teeing off in support of ending homelessness one life at a time.

After a beautiful day of golf, the ladies enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by Fort Cherry Golf Club's staff, had an opportunity to purchase tickets for the many auction baskets and heard from guest speaker and President/CEO of City Mission, Dean Gartland.

Most importantly, the golfers were able to hear one of our former female residents share movingly about the time she spent in our women's shelter, Avis Arbor, and talked about how the program helped transform her life from homelessness to independent living.

Thank you to all businesses, organizations and individuals who supported this event through financial contributions, in-kind donations and participation! See you on the green next year!

Serving in the Summer with a Smile
Pictured here is longtime City Mission donor and volunteer Judy Skrenta with her son Steel, a student at Cedarville University in Ohio. Judy and Steel have given up their free time this summer to work each Wednesday in our Feed My Sheep Dining Room.

If you're interested in serving this fall at City Mission we would love to have you! Contact Sue Gartland for more information!
When Pigs Fly!

When pigs fly, we'll have said thank you enough to our generous donors and Corporate Partnership participant, Caterpillar! At the beginning of the month, not only did Caterpillar donate pork to City Mission, but Wes and Jim hand-delivered the packages!

Donations like these help support our food store for the winter months. Thank you, Caterpillar, for your generous donation!

Monday Memo Music
Create In Me - Rend Collective | The Art of Celebration (2014)
Create In Me - Rend Collective | The Art of Celebration (2014)

This week's Monday Music is Rend Collective's Create In Me

A great line in this song says, "You're not finished with me yet. By your power I change, I can change. 'Cause you're not finished with me yet! ... You make all things new!"

This song is a great reminder that through Christ we are a new creation. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Sincerely,

Your Friends at the City Mission
