Happy Monday, Mission Friends! We are happy to announce that our City Mission Online Donation Page is working fine after a brief technical glitch! Online donations can be made at our website: www.citymission.org.

3rd Annual Pro Bono Law Day at City Mission
Friday, October 17, is the 3rd Annual Pro Bono Law Day at City Mission. The bench and bar (judges and attorneys) are welcome to City Mission to enjoy a tour, lunch and four Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Credits on topics such as The PA Rules of Professional Responsibility and Housing Discrimination. The program runs from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. Cost for Pro Bono Law Day at City Mission is $25 and 100% of that amount benefits The Legal Clinic (TLC) at City Mission.

Samaritan Care Center Food Shelves are Almost Bare

The food shelves in the City Mission's Samaritan Center are precariously low - so low that we have been unable to fully fill the food bags that our neighbors depend upon. Last year, 3,260 bags of food were distributed at no cost to Samaritan Care clients. And based on last year's numbers, we know that the demand for food bags takes an upturn in the fall.

We are seeking donations of dried and canned foods - especially food that together constitute a meal (pasta noodles and sauce, canned tuna and a meal helper, etc.) and staples like peanut butter, cereals, pasta.

If you would like to make a donation please email Paul Smith, or call (724) 222-8530.

Customer Appreciation Day to Benefit City Mission
Many thanks to Dr. Carr of Pittsburgh Chiropractic and Wellness, who has been volunteering his time at City Mission for the last two months. Dr. Carr comes to the Arbuckle Medical Clinic several times a week and offers pro brono chiropractic care to our residents. "Guys that have been coming on a regular basis are seeing great results," says Dr. Carr.

Not only has he donated his time, but in August his practice held a Customer Appreciation Day in the office, where his patients were offered free chiropractic services, with all donations going to City Mission. What a great way to bring awareness homeless issues and to help people on a pathway toward healthy living!

Pictured above are Dr. Carr and a City Mission resident during one of his sessions.

Charles West Fellows at City Mission
It's great to have the Charles West Fellows of W&J College, led by Devan Carrington, regularly volunteer their time at City Mission! Pictured to the left are Donte Monday, Devan Carrington and Ty Greenwood and below are Kenny Clark, Qiyam Ansari and Justin Carter (Not pictured: Gadwin Stewart and Troy Miles) working hard in the Feed Our Sheep Dining Room in late September.

City Mission Volunteer Manager, Sue Gartland says, "We love getting the college students involved here because it gets them off their campus and involved in the community."

If your on-campus group would like more information on how to get involved with City Mission please email Sue Gartland for more information!

Monday Memo Music
Everfound -- Never Beyond Repair (Lyrics)
Everfound -- Never Beyond Repair (Lyrics)
Everfound's, "Never Beyond Repair" is this week's Monday Memo Music selection. We see many men, women and children come through our doors at City Mission. We not only get the chance to help shelter, feed and clothe the homeless, but we get this amazing opportunity to introduce many of them to Jesus Christ, which we believe is the first step to lasting (and everlasting) rehabilitation. We're all broken people and sometimes we need a good reminder that despite what we've done, "The Savior is able, His forgiveness is the proof."

Sincerely,

Your Friends at the City Mission
