Seth Kahan on Leadership // Monday Morning Mojo
Quiet Renewal
My work takes me into some pretty incredible places, working with leaders who are all about creating amazing contributions for the world at large. But, sometimes, it is in my private world where renewal takes place.

SitaEvery morning I walk my big German Shepherd, Sita. At 120 pounds she can be an intimidating presence, but with me she is just "my big girl" by my side. Our  walks often take place at the crack of dawn and usually last 30 minutes or so. I like to take her up to our local park where I can let her off the leash and she can stretch out.

I adopted her from a house in rural Virginia where her entire litter was left with a woman who had a reputation for finding dogs a home.

My daughter and I drove out to pick her up and I guess I didn't know enough by her size - she was about 25# at 10 weeks - to know she would get so big. But, I was pleased.

When I was much younger I hitch-hiked around the country with a big dog and ever since then I have enjoyed the presence of a large canine by my side.

It's these private moments, alone at dawn, that bring me a quiet sustenance.

Where do you go and what do you do to revitalize?
