After running CEO groups for 12 years, I launched a class for tomorrow's CEOs earlier this month. It was at the suggestion of a couple of the CEOs I work with regularly. The class went spectacularly well.
I encouraged and enlivened by the spirits of the participants. Eager, hungry, thoughtful, smart. There is nothing like a group of leaders who want to be better than they are. We can all use some of that. Studious, involved, generous, insightful.
If you are reading this, you are a leader of some sort or another. I know the people who subscribe, because you all write to me now and then. CEOs, change agents, thought leaders, lovers of life. Have you thought about mentoring?
Mentoring is often looked upon as giving back, but let me tell you: you will get as much if not more than you give. Vitality, energy, exuberance, verve, sparkle, passion, fire - it's all there! Have a conversation with someone who wants to be where you are. You will be amazed at the élan vital it provides.
It's the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen.
