Be Unreasonable Today
People who accomplish great things are unreasonable. They go beyond what is expected, even against it. There will always be those who tell you your aspirations are not realistic or will get you in trouble. Don't let them dissuade you. Not today.

If ever there was a day when the world needed your courage, it is this one. There is no better time. Find clear sight and then go after the thing that appears most auspicious to you: that which is right, good, and beyond all reason.

Everything great that was ever won was done so by unreasonable people who refused to let mediocre minds or those preoccupied with acceptance stand in their way. Often, the most remarkable achievements were scoffed at, belittled, and ridiculed in advance. People are quick to tell you anything that stands out is better off avoided. "Don't rock the boat" should be greeted by "caveat emptor. "

If you have a sparkle in your eye today, something magical up your sleeve, or if you simply have a dream you are working hard to realize, go into this day and week with the knowledge that all things you work hard for carry an intrinsic reward (even if not achieved): they are the work of your soul and that alone justifies your efforts.  Who knows? You may succeed.

“Life is easier than you'd think; all that is necessary is to accept the impossible, do without the indispensable, and bear the intolerable.”
― Kathleen Norris

My most recent book, Getting Innovation Right, was publlshed last week. What a joy!  Here is what Dan Pink had to say about it:

Everybody knows you have to innovate to be a success, but it's easier said than done. Getting Innovation Right is a master class in mastering the current business landscape. Reading this book will give you real-world examples of innovation at work, along with tested templates for action, so you can take your creativity and drive and use them to create exciting products and services your customers will clamor for.”
—Daniel H. Pink, author, To Sell is Human, Drive, and A Whole New Mind
