We live in a time of unprecedented knowledge
sharing. All around the world there are capable people investigating
some of our world's most perplexing dilemmas, gathering together the
resources and interviewing the gurus, and then turning the insights and
discoveries into easily digestible books.
Take for example:
Gallup's, Strengths Based Leadership: Great Leaders, Teams, and
Why People Follow
Vital Smarts', Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking when Stakes
are High
Dan Pink's, To Sell is Human: The Surprising Truth about What
Motivates Us
Every time you turn around another cool book has come out. And each of
these treasure troves costs a mere $20 to own and imbibe. It's
practically free.
So many authors, experts, and thought-leaders have decided to start
giving away their knowledge. You can find it all on the web in videos,
audio tracks, articles, and more. On my website there are over 400 articles for free.
You probably know I speak to over 25,000 people a year. Well, I often
do workshops as well as keynotes. I have taken the exercises I created
for these sessions, drawn from each of my two books, and developed
black & white workbooks that I use at these events. You can
download them here, reproduce and share them, and use them to run a
workshop based on my books. Here they are:
What cool things will you give away, toss into the ocean of knowledge
that envelops our world? It's a great way to make a difference by
letting your light shine, pouring your good works into the sea of life
for the benefit of everyone who values what you have to offer.
I have found that
among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver.
