Come share some Christmas cheer in the pastors' offices tomorrow, December 12!
This is a fun and relaxing time for you to see "where we live" and pause for some Christmas goodies (healthy and not) and good conversation with friends.
The times will be:
December 12 from 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. and
5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Hopefully both these times will fit those who like to get out in the daylight, those who have a lunch hour, and those who have evening plans! Pastors Adam and Pamela look to seeing you at the Open House Open Office! ALL are invited! Kids welcome ;-)
Habitat for Humanity Siding Project
FUMC has been asked to assist with a house siding project on a habitat home under construction in Cottage Grove. T he project date is Saturday, December 16  with a lead volunteer on site to instruct/assist: Lanny Massey . Knowledge of tools is helpful. instruction will be provided for the hardplank siding. Some equipment will be furnished. If you are able to assist for a few hours or the day please contact Valorie Schuelke by phone at 541-343-4988 , or [email protected]  
Cookie Walk Boxes Still Available
We still have a few boxes of cookies left from the UMW Cookie Walk that need a hungry home! They are available for $10.00 per box. Please drop by the office if you would like to purchase one or more of the delicious boxes of cookies!
Don't Miss Portland Gay Men's Chorus!
Concerts at First presents the Portland Gay Men's Chorus. Directed by Bob Mensel, this award-winning choir brings the joy and cheer of the season. You will hear music of Solstice, Christmas, Hanukkah, and the New Year. This year's concert delivers a strong antidote to the angst of our times with an emphasis on diversity, joy, and hope!
When: Saturday, December 16th at 3:00 p.m.
Where: Our Sanctuary
Suggested admission is $10.00 and of course we always welcome donations to Food For Lane County.
Advent Poinsettias
We still have approximately 20 poinsettias that you may purchase in honor of or in memory of a loved one. They are $13.50 and you can take them home with you after the Christmas Eve service or have them delivered to a shut in. Please drop by the office to make payment and get the names of the giver and the honoree for the Christmas Eve Bulletin.
Advent Organ Recitals Continue
Don't miss Concerts at First Advent Organ Recitals each Friday at noon. These 45 minute recitals are filled with warm seasonal sounds that will give you a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of the holidays. The concerts continue this Friday with Dr. Philip Brisson from Louisville Kentucky at the console . Come rest your soul and focus on the reason for the season to the lovely sounds of our Hochhalter Pipe Organ.
Messiah Sing
Sure, we all sing along with the Hallelujah Chorus , but have you ever wanted to belt out For Unto Us A Child Is Born or Worthy Is The Lamb? Well here is your chance to do just that. Come join Concerts at First as we present Handel's Messiah . This production will be for soloists and the congregation!! The soloists will take care of the heavy work of the arias and recitatives and the congregation will tackle the choruses. Our joyous voices will be accompanied by Delgani String Quartet and our own Paul John Rudoi will be the conductor. This event will take place on Saturday, December 23rd at 3:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
