ORDINATION EXAM READERS NEEDED

The Committee on Preparation for Ministry in New Brunswick seeks Ordination Exam Readers for election by the Presbytery. New Brunswick has been asked to elect 3 Ruling Elders and 3 Teaching Elders, plus one alternate, at the June Presbytery meeting. Exam reading weeks will be Aug 3-7 OR November 2-6. This is the third year that all reader training and all exam evaluation will be done completely online.

For those who might be interested, what is involved?

1. Readers must have reliable internet access, as all work is done online.(you can work from home or wherever you want) 2. Readers should be willing to prepare ahead of time (resources available on Moodle exam website) 3. Readers should be willing to clear the first several days of the reading week in order to evaluate exams ( Mon-Wed are key) 4. Readers will be able to choose whether the Aug or the Nov week is better for them.

"The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) continues to affirm the crucial role the ordination exams play in the discernment and preparation of future teaching elders for the church. This program is dependent upon the presbyteries to provide gifted and committed readers to provide the evaluations of this work done by our candidates. Your efforts provide a service to our candidates, their presbyteries of care, and our congregations." (Timothy Cargal, Assistant Stated Clerk, Preparation for Ministry)

Please prayerfully consider the call to this ministry of discernment and preparation. Thank you! Please email Leslie Dobbs-Allsopp: [email protected].

HUMOR IN EVERY DAY
PLEASE PRAY FOR:
EASTER GREETINGS FROM KARLA

The tomb is empty.

The women look at one another with fear and wonder.

What will it be like to live now that death does not have the last word?

The struggle in favor of life continues.

Happy Easter!
