CITIZENS POLICE ADVISORY COUNCIL DIALOGUE TODAY

City-Wide Community/Police Dialogue Continuing our Local Conversation

Monday, February 23, 2015, Trenton Masonic Temple, 100 Barrack Street, Trenton

Today the Trenton Citizens-Police Advisory Council (CPAC) and Police Director Parrey announced the upcoming city-wide Community/Police Dialogue which will take place today, Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Trenton Masonic Temple, 100 Barrack Street, Trenton. The dialogue will run from 6:30 to 8:30pm with the doors opening at 6pm.

Mayor Jackson and Police Director Parrey will be joining us for the dialogue.

Starting with comments by the Police Director on Trenton's community policing initiative, the majority of the dialogue is a moderated, open session for community ideas, comments and questions.
The dialogue will be framed by two community leaders highlighting the concerns and issues relating to community/police interactions and relationships.

The overall objectives for the meeting are:
  • Taking steps to create a better and more trusting relationship between the community and the police.
  • Starting the understanding and shaping of our local directions for community policing.
  • Establishing ways to continue the Community/Police Dialogue using the existing CPAC forums.
Come listen and be heard.

ARE YOU TRAVELING TO THE HOLY LAND IN 2015?

Did you know there are Presbyterian mission staff on the ground there? Let them know you are coming, and they would love to meet you! They can even introduce you to local Israeli and Palestinian mission partners of the PC(USA)!

Make your pilgrimage one in which you actually follow in the footsteps of Jesus by walking not only where he did, but as he did-noticing people, hearing their stories, and caring about them. Contact mission coworker Kate Taber at [email protected].

SMALL TALK: DISCUSSION & BOOK SIGNING
Amy Julia Becker, PTS grad and renowned book author and blogger, is hosting a dsicussion and book signing on Thursday, February 26 at 6:30 in the Lounge at the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville.  Her book "Small Talk: Learning From My Children About What Matters Most" was published this past October.

From Amazon.com - "Small Talk ....... is not a parenting guide. It does not offer prescriptive lessons about how to talk with children. Rather, it tells stories based upon the questions and statements Amy Julia's children have made about the things that make life good (such as love, kindness, beauty, laughter, and friendship), the things that make life hard (such as death, failure, and tragedy), and what we believe (such as prayer, God, and miracles)."
