MCBOE Recognizes HES, MCAC and Friend of Education 13WMAZ's Frank Malloy
The Board of Education recognized Samuel E. Hubbard Elementary School's robotics team, the Techno Tigers for outstanding performance in First LEGO League Robotics Competition.  The team includes Luke Cantrell, Skyler Perry, Baylor Emami, Kalonis Outlaw, Steven Gibbs, Penn Tyler, Autumn Smith,  Mary Ella Andrews, and Marissa Clements.  They are coached by Kera Davis and Natalie Parham.  Students and coaches are pictured with Superintendent Dr. Mike Hickman, MCBOE Chairman Nolen Howard, and HES Principal Jay Johnston.
 
Samuel E. Hubbard Elementary School's staff were recognized for their years of service. Five years of service:  Johnnie Mae Harris, Kimberlie Harris, Tabitha Kump, Jennifer Loftin, Krista Shouse, Belinda Webb.  Ten years of service:  Betsy Davis-Ford, Rebecca Wachtel, Mildred Avery.  Fifteen years of service:  Dr. Donna Ayers, Kathleen Bunn, Tiffany Smith, Bobby Gray.  Twenty-five years of service:  Curtis Banks, Jay Johnston.

MCAC students participating in the work-study 12 for Life Program were recognized at Tuesday night's board meeting.  MCAC students participating in the program are
Jordan Barberich, Matthew Battle, Lyntorian Brantley, Maggie Cooper, Robert Thornton, Zackary Waits, and Marctavious Watkins. MCAC students are pictured with Superintendent Dr. Mike Hickman, MCAC Principal Grady Caldwell, and MCBOE Chairman Nolen Howard. 
 
MCAC teacher Juliana Smith was recognized for recently winning a $2900 EcoLab for MCAC literacy efforts.  She is pictured with Superintendent Dr. Mike Hickman, MCAC Principal Grady Caldwell, and MCBOE Chairman Nolen Howard.

Please Donate 2 Liter Bottles to Hubbard Elementary School's First Grade Project
 
Please donate empty 2 liter bottles to Hubbard Elementary School's first grade classes.  They are taking on the ambitious project of using 1500 2 liter bottles to build a greenhouse.  You can drop off your donations at Hubbard Elementary School.  Contact STEM Coordinator Susan Curtis at susan.curtis@mcschools.org for more information.
