St. Rose School
St. Rose Report for October 15, 2017
Dear St. Rose Families,

Annual School Appeal Brunch Thank You!

If you left baking dishes behind at the School Appeal Brunch on October 8th, they are ready for pick-up in the Student Community Center, first door on the right as you enter St. Rose School. Thank you to all the teachers, students, and parents who made last weekend's School Appeal event a huge success.

The sign-ups have begun for the 3rd - 6th grade upper basketball league. They group the students in the league by grade and by school. Therefore, students from St. Rose will be grouped together on the same team and could even have their own St. Rose jersey. Here is some information about the league.

Registration Deadline: October 24
Cost: $65
Number of Games: 12 local games
Season: November - December
Additional Tournament Opportunities

Students in grade 3 - 4 can sign up online at anytime. Students in 5th grade should attend the basketball meeting during lunch on Tuesday to signup. The coordinator of the Kelso Basketball League has asked that we provide a list of players to insure that all the 5th grade students are put on the same St. Rose team. After the basketball team meeting, parents of 5th grade can sign their students up online as well. We will be looking for a coaching team for the 5th grade. Please contact Mr. Harnish or Mrs. Strader if you are interested in coaching either our 5th grade girls or 5th grade boys team. Go Knights!

Uniform Closet:

We do have volunteers in the uniform closet on Monday and Thursday from 8:10 - 8:30. If you are in need of uniform items, please email Mrs. Strader or send a note to the main office.

Yours in Christ always,

Catherine Strader

Virtue of the Month for October
Being Considerate
You can help you child better understand this virtue by sharing that being considerate is about the following 7 habits:

  1. Being empathetic
  2. Smiling often
  3. Sensing others' needs
  4. Minding manners
  5. Taking care of oneself and others
  6. Being patient
  7. Apologizing when warranted

Being considerate is not just about how we behave towards others, but how we behave respectfully towards ourselves too

Talk to your child about what it means to be
considerate. Find examples in their readings or in a favorite family film. When you are out and about, ask them to identify situations in which people are being considerate of one another. Help them to think about what it means to be respectful of themselves as well.

"The ultimate test of your greatness is the way you treat every human being."'
