Monster Truck Mania

Invades The

'Monster Half Mile'

PITTSBURGH, PA - August 28, 2012 - The oval track warriors will get a much deserved Saturday evening of rest as the behemoths of the "truck world" take center stage as we welcome "Monster Truck Mania" to Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway this Saturday, September 8th.

The event stars Bad Habit, the world record holding monster truck who visited us in June. Bad Habit has enjoyed his previous visit to PPMS so much that this time he is bringing along several of his friends: Eradicator, Screamin Demon, Backdraft and the XDP Monster Truck (the world's only diesel powered competition monster truck), will join him and perform their "car crushing" and "bone jarring" stunts at the Imperial oval.

"The monster truck show is an excellent opportunity for us to attract new fans to our sport," commented Speedway Owner Matt Miley.   "There are quite a few residents of the tri-state area who have no idea that there is a motorsports venue right here in Allegheny County and we hope the monster truck event will encourage them to stop by a time or two each summer. PPMS has some of the best short track racing in the area and we would like to introduce our race teams to a new audience."

In addition to the monster truck action those in attendance will be able to see an installment of the always popular and unpredictable Wacky Wheels Figure Eight Mania. Andrew Loria scored the win in the last Wacky Wheels event and all eyes will be on him to see if he can defeat defending Wacky Wheels Champion Joe Podolinsky and others.

Those who have often wanted to experience the thrill of racing on "Dirt's Monster Half Mile" will get their chance this weekend as the PPMS Spectator Drags are also on the racing card. All street legal vehicles are eligible to participate and there is a $50.00 registration fee. Those interested in competing need to contact Matt Miley via telephone at (412) 736-3142 or via e-mail at ppms@ppms.com to register their street legal car, truck or semi. Prizes will be awarded to the top four finishers in each class.

Any PPMS competitor interested in competing in the drag racing portion of this week's action who has contacted Matt at the number above will receive Free Pit Admission to the event.

Any PPMS competitor interested in displaying their car at the event should contact Matt at (412) 736-3142.
