Asante Rogue Regional Resource Fair

December 3rd was the first Resource Fair we had coordinated for the Medford Case Managers. The focus of the event was three- fold:

  • Vendors/Providers have the opportunity to network with Hospital Case Managers, Social Workers and Discharge Planning support staff.
  • Hospital staff are able to gather resource information, while obtaining Continuing Education Credits.
  • Proceeds from the booth fees will be used to support low income patients in need.
The overall feedback was very positive. We had 28 vendors providing information, and approximately 40 case management and support staff attend the event. We were excited to also have attendance from Providence Case Management attend and receive CEU credit.

We did a feedback survey from all that attended and learned a few things to improve for next time. 1) The format of the poster presentations is much easier to understand and explain once you have seen it in action 2) I will better comm
unicate an expected number of attendees 3) It does help when those who are participating in the event are able to receive and read their email updates and information 4) A possible idea for improvement is to do the resource fairs more often, but limit the number of the community resources at each to allow for more time with each table.

All in all- Our staff and the hospital were excited with the turnout and feedback for the first event and will be planning future events. Additionally, We raised $2,000 for the low income patient in need fund. Thank you to all who participated.

Perserverance

"Your persistence is your measure of your faith in yourself"

- Brian Tracey

I have failed often when starting most of my endeavors, but I choose to push through. I have had to adjust course, adapt my approach, or overcome an obstacle. I was willing to fail at the method, but not willing to fail at the goal. Adapt, adjust or overcome, but still persist; if you don't have faith in yourself to accomplish the goal- why should others have faith in you?

 - Amy

Thank you to those that have already shown your support and reserve your ad space, we are truly grateful. You are the reason we continue to grow with each edition.

I look forward to becoming more involved in this community.

Sincerely,
