'NIGHT IN GAZA: A DOCTOR'S JOURNEY', featuring Dr. Mads Gilbert
Friday, October 7th - Reception at 6:00, Presentation at 7:00pm
at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 14311 Wells Port Drive, Austin
Dr. Mads Gilbert is a Norwegian doctor who dropped everything and rushed to Gaza in the midst of its assault by Israel and worked alongside Palestinian doctors around the clock to treat the injured. He did this in 2006, '08, '11, and '14, until he was permanently banned from entering by Israel, which described his work as a threat to its security!
His presentation on Gaza, Palestinian steadfastness ("sumoud"), and the role of the global community has been described by Dr. Donna Nassor as "powerful, urgent and necessary". Tickets will go on sale next week ($30 public; $15 students);
proceeds go to KinderUSA's humanitarian relief work benefiting malnourished children in Gaza.

Last Months's Run 4 Palestine (Austin's first!) was:
P H E N O M E N A L ! ! !
This community solidarity activity occurred simultaneously in 21 cities around the world, including Ramallah and Gaza! In Austin, we had about 150 participants, including 2 dogs and lots of kids (and people of all ages). We raised a total of $7,020! A big shout out to the wonderful volunteers from Muslim Youth of North America, Muslim American Society and Jewish Voice for Peace who ensured a flawless event, including some amazing photography and beautiful videos of the most beautiful moments (thanks to Salma Fooshang and Manal El Haj): check them out at the links below!
And read to the end to see how you can get your own Run 4 Palestine t-shirt!
