The Hernandez Center
for Adjunctive Cancer Care

With this issue of Pacific Naturopathic News, we enter our ninth year of monthly publication.  We are grateful to many of our readers for their expressions of support, appreciation and feedback. As always, please let us know how we are doing and if there is anything your like us to address in our monthly newsletter.

We all know that there is a profound connection between our thoughts, moods and our health. Just for fun, we've added the moon into the mind/body mix.  Why?  The simple answer is another question: if the moon has such a profound effect on the tides and on growing plants, does it not also affect our physiological and mental/emotional processes as well?  Our authors look at this question from various interesting perspectives.

Dr. Connie begins by musing about the effects of our thoughts on our health, and in another article writes about the moon and medicine; Dr. Marcel gives a few specific examples on how the moon affects our health; Elijah writes about his success in using his "Mood Ease" formula in addressing depression; Lauren H-W offers a simple recipe on how to make "spa water" and Dr. Brad writes about naturopathic approaches to mood balancing.  A fun fact about this month's newsletter is that although all writers know what the topic is, they do not know what other writers are focusing on.  In their articles, both Dr. Connie and Dr. Marcel advocate walking barefoot on grass in the moonlight.  There must be something to it...

Hernandez Center articles include a piece on cancer-fighting spices; a connection between sports and cancer and a discussion about the carcinogens in potato chips.

May all beings be healthy and happy!

Moon, Moods and Medicine:
Emotions, Energetics and Health

Suggesting to a patient that their symptoms have something to do with their moods can be quite dicey. To the patient, this suggestion may feel like they are being told that their symptoms are not real, or that they are somehow to blame for the situation in which they find themselves. Patients who harbor what they consider to be justified anger and resentment do not want to be told that medicines may not work well until underlying issues are addressed.

This all calls to mind an incident in my own life. I had been losing my voice quite regularly. At one point, a 19 year old health food store clerk offered up the comment that there was clearly something I was not expressing that needed to be expressed, and that I might want to address that.  As true as that may have been, the advice was unsolicited, not helpful, and felt insulting.  Much later, some 30 years ago now, I was again suffering from a periodic bout of acute laryngitis and loss of voice. In the hands of a skilled intuitive healer, I was guided into a meditative state in which I could access and release blocked emotional energy. While I may have experienced a raspy voice on occasion since then, I have not lost my voice again.

As a child I remember comforting my younger brother with the words "sticks and stones can break my bones, but words can never hurt me". That was unfortunately untrue. The truth is that thoughts and emotions, expressed in words or not, are in the realm of energy. Energy patterns physical reality. Our physical bodies result from the interplay of underlying energetic (vibrational) realities.

The Japanese scientist Emoto Sensei famously illustrated the effect of our thoughts, words and emotions on water crystals.  Harmonious words and thoughts make beautiful crystalline structures within frozen water crystals, whereas violent words cause muddied and disintegrated structures.  We humans are made up of water. Through the energetic impact on our water and in so many other ways, every word we speak, every thought we think, every emotion we entertain has the potential to heal or harm our own physical bodies, and others as well.

The changes that come about in our bodies from our emotional energies are quite real. Energy channels run throughout our bodies and connect to our endocrine glands and our nerve plexuses. Our very cells communicate with each other through electromagnetic vibrations.  Vibrational medicines such as homeopathy or flower essences or affirmations reach us at this level. Techniques such as Emotional Freedom Technique tap into our energy bodies to change us. Meditation practices transform our energy at the deepest core of our beings.

Though we can change our physical bodies with medicines and manipulation and surgery, we cannot necessarily effect transformation. Using these modalities of healing, but keeping our negative and unresolved emotions is like taking in a remedy with one hand and antidoting it with the other. We therefore speak of stress management, mindfulness and meditation as central to the healing process. Moods matter!

Under the Harvest Moon

Under the harvest moon,
When the soft silver
Drips shimmering
Over the garden nights,
Death, the gray mocker,
Comes and whispers to you
As a beautiful friend
Who remembers.

Under the summer roses
When the flagrant crimson
Lurks in the dusk
Of the wild red leaves,
Love, with little hands,
Comes and touches you
With a thousand memories,
And asks you
Beautiful, unanswerable questions.
-- Carl Sandburg

The Moon and Health:
Startling Connections

"The moon does not fight. It attacks no one. It does not worry. It does not try to crush others. It keeps to its course, but by its very nature, it gently influences. What other body could pull an entire ocean from shore to shore? The moon is faithful to its nature and its power is never diminished."  Ming-Dao Deng Everyday Tao: Living with Balance and Harmony

The moon, ah, the moon.  Just the thought of it is transcendent. The moon has been gazed upon and revered since humans walked the planet.  It is the inspirational impetus for countless songs, poems, myths and misconceptions.  It has been used for navigation, in agriculture, future prognostication and in religious rituals.  The moon also has played a significant role in the way we view health.  For example:

Full moons and insanity. The term "lunatic" comes from the belief that mental problems increase during a full  moon . A 2011 Dutch study of more than 5,400 patients found that full moons brought an increase in emergency admissions of psychiatric patients. Researchers theorized that the moon's gravity could have an effect on mood and behavior by affecting the movement of liquids in the brain. In 18th-century England, people on trial for murder could campaign for a lighter sentence on grounds of lunacy if the crime occurred under a full moon.

The moon and female fertility.  Perhaps because the menstrual and lunar cycles are similar in length, many early civilizations believed that the moon determined when women could become pregnant. A study published in the journal Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica tracked more than 800 women for up to 25 years and found that almost 30 percent of women had their periods around the full moon. A study of more than 8,000 women presented at the annual conference of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine found that most women's periods began in the two weeks beginning 11 days from the start of the full moon. Other studies have found that women are most fertile during a new moon when the sky is darkest.

The moon and sleep. A study from the University of Basel in Switzerland published in the journal Current Biology  found that it took people longer to fall asleep during a full moon. In addition, the rate of brain activity that indicates a restful, deep sleep dropped by 30 percent, and, overall, they slept for 20 minutes less. Tests also found a reduction in melatonin, a hormone that helps normalize sleep/wake cycles, during the full moon.
The moon and heart attacks.  A German study published in the European Journal of Preventive
Cardiology  examined the records of 16,000 heart attack victims and found a significant reduction in heart attacks during the three days following a new moon. They theorized that the moon has a beneficial effect on the heart twice a month - during a full moon and also during a new moon when the sun and moon are aligned and gravity is at its strongest.

The moon and kidney stones. A study of almost 1,500 people published in the journal Urology  found that pain caused by kidney stones increased significantly during a full moon. Although not all studies have come to the same conclusion, a study at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital also found that patients admitted with urological emergencies increased during the full moon.

The moon and surgical outcomes.  A 2013 study published in the journal Interactive Cardiovascular and
Thoracic Surgery  found that patients who had an emergency form of open heart surgery during a full moon were hospitalized four fewer days - 10 versus 14 - than those whose surgeries occurred during different phases of the moon.

Finally, to experience the loveliness and serenity of a full moon, take off your shoes and socks and take an evening walk on a grassy place.  Stop, look up, and view the exact same scene that Cleopatra, Shakespeare, Lincoln, Galileo, Washington and every other human being has experienced through all the ages of history.  The human mind simply cannot comprehend the enormity of this concept, but our cellular understanding can experience the awesomeness.

Medicine and the Moon

Poets and mystics, and astrologers of all ilk recognize the mental, emotional and spiritual opportunities presented to us within every lunar cycle, each full moon, each new moon. This month's full moon was the Sturgeon Moon and partial lunar eclipse, the moon being in Aquarius, opposing the Sun and Mars.... all of which (and many other astrological realities) has relevance to aspects of your well- being, including your physical health.

Farmers and fisher folk and oceanographers attest to the control the moon exerts on tides and planting cycles. Primitive cultures have typically been tuned in to and aware of the moon's effects on our physical bodies as well. In the United States, the Women's Health Movement brought that information into the conscious awareness of many women.

In the early 70's, copies of the book Our Bodies, Ourselves from the Boston Women's Health Cooperative were passed from hand to hand, well studied, well worn. Women's gatherings centered on self-care, on understanding the workings and the natural rhythms of the body. Women tuned to the moon, and learned that the lunar journey we witness as the moon crosses the sky controls not only the tides of the waters of the ocean, but the waters of our bodies as well.

Women studied the phases of their cycles, enthralled by stories of the female Macaque monkeys at the equator ovulating together at the full moon, menstruating at the new moon.  Louise Lacey's book Lunaception A Feminine Odyssey into Fertility and Conception elucidated how the light cycle of the moon stimulates the pineal gland. Deep in our brains, the pineal gland secretes melatonin, regulates female ovulatory cycles. If you've ever lived in a teepee, you know what the moon can do for you.

Scientific understanding of the function of the pineal gland has evolved over the years, particularly as science and spirituality merge in closer agreement. Spiritually, the pineal gland is seen as the seat of intuition and cosmic consciousness, the counterpoint to the pituitary gland, which is the seat of the mind. The joining of the solar and lunar energies of these two glands is said to open the 3rd eye, bring radiant joy, perfect attunement and serviceful surrender to divine will. Talk about wellbeing!

Melatonin, the hormone secreted by the pineal gland in response to natural light and dark cycles, is now understood to be (in appropriate dosage) not just a sleep promoter, but fundamental to optimal aging, integral in the control of reproductive cancers, and an anti inflammatory aid.

Our bright urban life often obscures the diurnal cycle of the sun and the monthly cycle of the moon. When we wake, work, live in artificial lighting, we lose the effect of natural lighting on the pineal gland, resulting in chaotic circadian rhythms. This disrupts  monthly cycles, energy, sleep, immunity.

The wisdom of moon bathing is apparent. Try taking off your shoes each day, walking on the grass for a dose of earth energy, and meditating in the light of the moon. See what changes you experience in your mental, emotional, spiritual and physical well- being.

The Freedom of the Moon

I've tried the new moon tilted in the air
Above a hazy tree-and-farmhouse cluster
As you might try a jewel in your hair.
I've tried it fine with little breadth of luster,
Alone, or in one ornament combining
With one first-water start almost shining.

I put it shining anywhere I please.
By walking slowly on some evening later,
I've pulled it from a crate of crooked trees,
And brought it over glossy water, greater,
And dropped it in, and seen the image wallow,
The color run, all sorts of wonder follow.

In this section of our newsletter, we will describe unique health care products we offer in the new, small retail section of our clinic.

RexEme Cream

RexEme cream needs to be in every home pharmacy because of its extensive and effective dermatological healing properties.  Dr. Connie and Dr. Marcel even travel with it.

We first started carrying RexEme cream in our clinic pharmacy in the mid 1990s after we had used it ourselves and discovered its almost magical properties.  Does that sound like hyperbole?  A bit like snake oil?  Well, here's a true story.

Dr. Marcel was working in the kitchen.  He picked up a pot of boiling water by its insulated handles.  The supposedly heat-proof handles were as hot as the pot and the resulting reflex caused scalding water to be spilled on his tee-shirted abdomen. He immediately pulled off the tee-shirt.  Ignoring the pain and bright red burn marks, he slathered RexEme all over his abdomen.  Half an hour later, the pain was so diminished he could sleep later that evening.  He had forgotten all about the incident until he took a warm shower the next morning and noticed slight discomfort on his rapidly healing skin.

RexEme is a therapeutic formula of ingredients in a base of lanolin and mineral oil. Although it is a powerful moisturizer, it is greaseless and easy to apply.  At Pacific Naturopathic, we have prescribed it in countless skin conditions, from itching and dryness to rashes and chronic skin problems.

RexEme Cream  contains no fragrance, steroids, colorings, or harmful preservatives or alkali and won't clog skin pores. It is easy to use and hypo-allergenic.

The Myers Cocktail: Q&A
Powerful, Safe, Easily and Quickly Administered

Why do an IV? Aren't we able to get the nutrients we need from our diets?

In a perfect world, this is true.  But the typical American diet is lacking in adequate nutrient content and even with a stellar diet, the nutrient quality in the foods has steadily declined.  Also, chemicals, toxins, stress, allergies, genetics, infections and other reasons, many people suffer from compromised gastrointestinal function. The result is impaired digestion, decreased capacity to break down foods and compromised ability to absorb the vital nutrients needed to just maintain health.

When nutrients are given intravenously, the digestive system is bypassed and nutrients are delivered directly into the cells. Each cell gets to bathe in a nutrient-dense solution, so that these vitamins are easily accessible, in the most bio-available form, allowing the greatest potential for healing and ENERGY.

Just what is a Myers cocktail?

The basic Myers' Cocktail, is an intravenous vitamin nutrient supplement that was formulated more than 40 years ago for promoting healing and restoring energy and stamina.  The standard Myers Cocktail at Pacific Naturopathic consists of magnesium, calcium, selenium, zinc, vitamin B-5 vitamin B-6, vitamin B-12, vitamin B complex, and Vitamin C. Other vitamins or ingredients may be added to the Myers' Cocktail protocol, depending on the patient's diagnosis and overall health as well as the condition being treated.

What is the Myers cocktail used for?

The "cocktail" is indicated for chronic acute viral illness/colds, fatigue, fibromyalgia, vitamin deficiency, anxiety, stress, depression, migraine or tension headaches, general immune boosting, gut malabsorption, leaky gut and support to cancer patients. It can be useful in situations where oral nutrients or other therapies are not working. When nutrients are given intravenously, your digestive system is bypassed and a much higher level of nutrition can be delivered directly to your cells via the bloodstream.  If you tend to be anxious or overstressed, it can help to calm and relax you. If you tend to have fatigue and feel run down, it can help boost your energy.  There are so many diseases and symptoms that benefit from this therapy. It is like getting a supercharge of vitality!

Have there been any studies on the Myers Cocktail?

Yes.  Yale researchers recently tested the Myers Cocktail on a group of patients in a double-bind, placebo controlled randomized trial. The study measured tender points, depression levels and quality of life. Significant improvement was shown in all pertinent outcome measures with the Myers' group and none with the placebo group. There are currently 274 clinical research trials employing intravenous micronutrient therapy. About half of these concern treatment or prevention of cancer.  The remainder cover a wide range of medical and health conditions.
_____________________________________________________________________________________

The Myers Cocktail is the perfect solution for immune deficiencies and flagging energy levels. Known as THE original intravenous (IV) therapy solution, this Cocktail remains as popular as ever and can even be used as an effective hangover cure.
____________________________________________________________________________

How many treatments does it take to feel better?

Patients vary in the number of treatments needed, but a typical protocol is infusions once or twice a week. Some patients experience improvement after only one treatment, and many report significant healing by the fourth infusion. People who have chronic conditions may need ongoing treatment of several times per week, or periodically every few weeks to regain their energy.

How long does a Myers infusion take?

A typical Myers drip takes about 15 minutes.

Is It Safe?

The Myers Cocktail is a safe, effective, and minimally invasive therapy that is well tolerated by most people. It carries an extremely low risk of serious adverse side effects. If the protocol is administered quickly there may be a sensation of warmth and flushing. This is due to the rapid rise of magnesium. Some patients may also have the taste of vitamins in their mouth shortly after they are given the infusion.

Is there any preparation needed before receiving a Myers?

Before your treatment: It is best to prepare for the Myers' by drinking plenty of water and having food in your stomach before you come in the office.

Is a Myers Cocktail right for me?

At Pacific Naturopathic, we provide comprehensive holistic medical care, including thorough evaluation of each patient's symptoms, health, and needs.  During our evaluation, we can determine if IV therapy will be beneficial to your health goals.  After an initial consultation, we can schedule IV treatments to be performed in the office by one of our fully trained, licensed and certified Naturopathic Doctors.

Addressing Depression -- Naturally

I am using my article this month to let all of our patients know that we are offering a therapy for depression and/or anxiety that is very efficacious and fast working.   It is an all herbal formula called Mood Ease that I produce under my Earth Friend Herb Company label. It has been tested and used for several years now in my Pacific Naturopathic healing practice. With only the best results!

There is a wonderful story that goes along with the development of this formula for alleviating depression.

I have the best wife in the world. I love her profoundly.  But my wife, Maggie, suffered from different levels of depression most of her life. Much of the time it was a low level depression, but other times it could become most difficult. Winters with shorter days were the worst. And nothing helped at all.

Maggie did not want to take medication and I agreed with that.  But, no matter what, Maggie still suffered from ongoing metabolically induced depression.  So, as a gift to my wife, and to our relationship, I designed an herbal formula that solved the seratonin uptake problem corrected to not induce seratonin syndrome. Seratonin syndrome is where there is too much seratonin that uptakes in the system, causing a new set of undesirable problems.

I gave the brand new formula to Maggie one day as a gift of our love.  She took the first dose.  And Maggie has never been depressed again.

Of course Maggie takes the formula on a regular basis, and during dark winter months an extra dose. Using the formula is very easy. It is simply squirt one half of a dropper in the mouth three times a day. If it is a short dark winter day, then an extra dose may be required to keep moods steady and on course.

The formula, Mood Ease is a complicated herbal formula that works completely naturally with no side effects that have ever been noted. Some of my patients came to the clinic on medications for depression. Numerous times I have been able to work with people and they eventually were able to stop using their depression medications with the guidance of their prescribing physicians. If a case has certain complications, then I work with Dr. Connie as a team to better aid in a smooth therapeutically manner.

Dr. Connie and I have been working as a team for nearly eighteen years now, and have aided many of our patients with our combined expertise.

At times, anxiety is present along with depression. For that we can offer my Cortisol Ease   formula.  Together, when needed, these two herbal products by themselves or as a team have aided many, many people to regain their lives once again, free of the crushing burden of depression and anxiety.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at the clinic.   Or if you like, book a session to experience for yourself the freedom that you deserve.

Spa Water

I try to drink a lot of water and must admit that it gets boring at times. So, I was inspired by some spas that I have visited and saw pitchers of water with various things floating in them! This is my way of adding flavor, without sugar or calories, to my water! I hope it will inspire you to drink more water too! To our health!

Ingredients:

1 glass pitcher of bottled or filtered water, sparkling or still
1 bunch fresh organic mint, washed
1 organic cucumber (unpeeled), washed and sliced
1 organic lemon, washed and sliced thinly
1 organic orange, washed and sliced thinly
1 organic lime, washed and sliced thinly
Yields: 1 pitcher

If you cannot find organic fruit and vegetables then wash it with vegetable wash and rinse well to remove  pesticides and wax. Place any single or combination or all of the above into a pitcher and add water. Let it sit for at least 2 hours or overnight. I do not recommend using plastic, glass is the healthiest.

Take it with you in your stainless steel insulated bottle and it will stay cool all day. I fill a glass bottle everyday and keep it in my office and take 2 bottles in car everytime I drive anywhere. My goal is to drink all of it by the end of the day!

Favorite Combinations:

* basil and lemon
* mint and lime
* mint and lime and cucumber
* basil & organic strawberries
* lemon and cucumber
* lemon, orange and lime
* green apple & fennel

Naturopathic Approaches to Mood Balancing

Brad West, N.D.
Overall health outcomes for any condition, chronic or acute, are affected by how we feel and think, sometimes dramatically. Naturopathic medicine understands this, teaches this and incorporates this into its core principles. A truly wholistic and effective medical approach always considers the mind-body-spirit piece as an important part of healing.

Common tools you'll find in a wholistic practice that address mood and emotions, and underlying mind body imbalances, include balanced remedies and supplements that may include homeopathy, flower essences, essential oil's and plant extracts, omega 3 and 6 oil/seed rotation, drainage, meditation and talk therapy or counseling with many different and more heart to heart approaches. Emotional freedom technique and tapping is one of my favorites.

Hormone replacement therapy is another effective approach to help balance mood and emotions in order to speed healing. The wholistic approach will often use one or more of the above listed modalities as well as bioidentical hormones, usually progesterone, estriol and estradiol, occasionally testosterone, DHEA and cortisol. These come in many forms but usually the lowest dosage and topical approach in a balanced compounded cream or gel is the most affordable and best tolerated.

Staying safe while treating effectively with a scientific yet holistic mindset has always been the goal of true naturopathic medicine.

Breast Thermography at
Pacific Naturopathic

- non-invasive, safe breast thermography -

thermography

Women often avoid breast screening by mammogram due to fears of the pain they might encounter when their breasts are compressed and fears of the damage that could occur due to that compression and the accompanying radiation. In addition, by the time something is found on a mammogram, a biopsy will be recommended in order to understand whether the finding indicates a cancerous condition.

By contrast, screening with breast thermography is non invasive and painless.

Questionable findings may be addressed with various treatment protocols, and followed up 3 months later to understand whether the protocol has been effective. If a finding is truly concerning, anatomical imaging may be recommended. Options are ultrasound, mammograms or MRIs.

There is a big risk/benefit difference between undergoing annual screening mammograms, and opting for a mammogram only when it is indicated by thermographic findings or physical exam.

Song of the Moon

The moonlight breaks upon the city's domes,
And falls along cemented steel and stone,
Upon the grayness of a million homes,
Lugubrious in unchanging monotone.
Upon the clothes behind the tenement,
That hang like ghosts suspended from the lines,
Linking each flat to each indifferent,
Incongruous and strange the moonlight shines.

There is no magic from your presence here,
Ho, moon, sad moon, tuck up your trailing robe,
Whose silver seems antique and so severe
Against the glow of one electric globe.

Go spill your beauty on the laughing faces
Of happy flowers that bloom a thousand hues,
Waiting on tiptoe in the wilding spaces,
To drink your wine mixed with sweet drafts of dews.

What We Offer  at the  Hernandez Center
for Adjunctive Cancer Care

Our cancer patients often ask us to give them an estimate of the effectiveness of therapy at the Hernandez Center for Adjunctive Cancer Care. We respond that
our entire focus is on helping our patients stay healthy, upbeat and positive.

The truth is that the botanical and nutritional therapies we offer (including
intravenous vitamin C), although 'adjunctive' in nature, have powerful documented actions in decreasing inflammation, reducing tumor load and attacking cancer stem cells.

Our mind/body approaches are focused on transformation of experience.  And our bodywork approaches helpreduce muscular pain, resolve lymph drainage problems and relieve stress.

The hope we offer is not that of a miraculous cure,
although we are definitely open to miracles,
but the hope of a life lived to the fullest in dignity
and understanding, for however long that may be.

Four Types of Carcinogens
Found in Potato Chips
Deborah Oke

There are several forms of carcinogenic compounds that form as a result of potato chip processing. Let's take a closer look at four types of carcinogens that can form while potato chips (and many other foods) are being processed:

#1. Acrylamides

This dangerous chemical is created when starchy vegetables, especially potatoes, are baked, fried, toasted, or roasted at temperatures of 212 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. As the carbs are cooked, the sugar combines with asparagine, an amino acid, and forms acrylamide.  One telltale sign that acrylamides are present is their signature yellow brown color that forms on foods cooked at these temperatures. This chemical has been proven to increase cancer risk, and affect the nervous system as well.

#2. PAH: Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons

These carcinogenic compounds are formed when smoke from the grill, oven, or stove gets into the air while cooking at high temperatures. These carcinogens then penetrate the food and you consume them. If you are smoking meats, vegetables, or even cheese on the grill or in a smoker, your vegetables will be impregnated with these cancerous carbons.
Inhaling is another way to get intoxicated while you are  grilling meat or veggies. Technically anytime you burn food and the house fills with smoke you are breathing in toxic PAH vapors. But in the factory where the chips are being manufactured the concentrations are even higher because of continuous processing. As a result the chips are getting a significantly concentrated dose before they're even packaged.

#3. HCA: Heterocyclic Amines

These detrimental gems are formed from over-cooking food at high temperatures, thus charring the food. Any overcooked chips potentially contain HCAs even though they are more commonly found on meats.  Studies have shown that consuming charred food increases your risk of developing cancer.

#4. AGE: Advanced Glycation End Products

Glycation occurs when food is cooked at high temperatures, which is done to sterilize it from pathogens. Sugar combines with protein to produce these end-products that accumulate in the tissues. The result of high concentrations of AGEs in tissues is low level chronic inflammation, oxidative stress, and kidney failure.

According to scientific research, nearly every chronic illness has its roots in AGEs.  AGEs contribute to an increased cancer risk because inflammation and circulating free radicals trigger cancer cell formation. If the kidneys can't flush these toxins out, then the body is flooded, which taxes the immune system further. So, it becomes apparent that the cancer has the opportunity to become rampant in the body as the systems to protect the body become weaker.

Your safest bet when it comes to potato chips is not to indulge at all. For an enjoyable snack, try a reasonable serving of vegetables dipped in a healthy dressing with high quality, unheated fats instead. These contain good fats that your body needs for optimal functioning. For example: it only takes a few minutes to whip up a guacamole with lemon juice and sea salt dip for broccoli, celery, and cherry tomatoes. This combo does not contain any of the carcinogens listed in this article, and you'll get a healthy does of nutrients instead of a bellyful of carcinogens.

Other I.V. Therapies Offered at Pacific Naturopathic and the Hernandez Center

--I.V. therapy is not just for cancer patients--

Many people have already heard about intravenous vitamin C as a complementary cancer therapy to help stimulate the immune system as well as being directly cytotoxic to cancer cells. This is the most common therapy we use at the Hernandez Center for our cancer patients.

But intravenous therapy is not just for cancer patients.  More than half of our IV patients come for various "cocktails" to help them ward off infections and optimize their health.  We offer a number of individualized versions of the famous "Myers Cocktail." Read about the Myers Cocktail HERE

Other cocktails we offer promote brain health, assist the liver in its detoxification efforts, relieve the symptoms of chronic fatigue, help reduce stress, bring rapid relief from sinusitis, colds and flus, address immune system disorders, slow the progression of macular degeneration, reduce chronic pain and fibromyalgia and many other conditions.
