There will be a separate application process and different pricing for the affordable units at 7000 Hawaii Kai DriveWe are still determining the date when we can begin accepting applications for the affordable units.  We will let you know as soon as that determination is made.

In the meantime, here is some general information for you. 
Of the 269 units available at 7000 Hawaii Kai Drive, 54 units have been designated as affordable by the City and County of Honolulu.  This means that applicants for these units will have to meet several City requirements, including but not limited to: 

  1. Citizenship/Residency - The applicant must be a U.S. citizen or resident alien and a resident of the State of Hawaii.
  2. Gross Household Income - The total annual income from ALL sources received by ALL the potential occupants of the unit cannot exceed 80% of area median income.  Currently those limits are:
    $61,350 for a family of 2
    $69,000 for a family of 3
    $76,650 for a family of 4
    $82,800 for a family of 5
    $89,950 for a family of 6
    $95,050 for a family of 7

    $101,200 for a family of 8

  3. Other Property - The applicant of an affordable unit cannot own a majority interest in fee simple or leasehold lands suitable for dwelling purposes.
  4. Ability to Pay - The applicant will need to demonstrate an ability to pay the rent and meet other criteria.
