Mt. Olive Manufacturing supports Link Space Science Institute STEM program
Mt. Olive Manufacturing owners, Steve and Lisa Langley, recently announced their support for the Link Observatory Space Science Institute STEM program. The donation of $10,000 was the first made to help establish a fund that Community Foundation of Morgan County will administer. Read more
Morgan County Public Library receives FRS grant
Morgan County Public Library was one of five selected among several applicants throughout the nation for a 2014 Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) grant. The grant, endorsed by Endeavor Communications, will be used for AWE Early Literacy Workstations, providing fun and attractive computer-based learning to help children between the ages of two and eight gain critical skills in reading, writing, phonics, math and problem solving, science, and social studies.  Learn more

Changes at IU Health Morgan underway
Ground has been broken for the renovations planned for the Indiana University Health Morgan healthcare campus. On Wednesday, July 22 IU Health Morgan President Doug Puckett hosted members of the IU Health Morgan board, physicians, staff, and community leaders to share the vision of the $13.5 million project. Duke Energy Indiana rates decreasing
Duke Energy Indiana customers are getting a break on their summer electric bills, and they can expect additional savings through the end of the year due to lower coal costs. Rates for more energy-intensive businesses  have declined about 9 to 10 percent compared to last summer. Costs will reduce further over the next few months as lower-cost fuel replaces higher-cost supplies. EDC Executive Director, Chelsey Manns, joined Hoosier Energy / SCI REMC  on a trip to the Carolinas in July to call on nine site selectors (specialists hired to help identify best place scenarios for new business locations).

Earlier this month, Hoosier Energy / SCI REMC sponsored the Logistics Development Forum in Park City, Utah. Chelsey met with eight site selectors to promote Morgan County, the Indy region, and Indiana!
Investor Spotlight

TOA (USA) is a subsidiary of Japan-based TOA Industries Co. Ltd. A Tier 1 supplier to Subaru and Toyota, TOA (USA) established its only U.S. facility in Mooresville in 2000, with the number of expansions now in the double digits. Since June 2014 alone, TOA (USA) has announced more than $111 million in capital investments and 300 new jobs.
