Thiesing Veneer Company
Thiesing Veneer is a family-owned company in Mooresville, and has been in business since 1920. Combining modern technology with art, skill, and old-fashioned hard work, they use many slicing options to manufacture face veneers with Oak, Walnut, Maple, Birch, Poplar, Hickory, and Cherry. One log can create enough veneer for several hundred faces, and wood waste is used as fuel to process veneer and heat the facility.

Indiana Hardwood Mills, north of Martinsville, has been a hardwood dimension mill since the mid-1960s. With a customer base made up of cabinet manufacturers, contractors, and home owners, IHM produces products in Poplar, Red Oak, White Oak, Cherry, Hard Maple, Soft Maple, Hickory, Birch, Beech, Ash, Mahogany, Alder, Pine, Walnut, and other species .

Mooresville manufacturing company Thermocore Panel Systems is enjoying continued growth as customers become more educated about energy-efficient construction.  Thermocore makes custom-designed structural insulated panels (SIPs) for both residential and commercial construction projects.

Expect lower gas prices this winter
Natural gas prices are not set by local utility companies, but by supply and demand. Three of the state's largest natural gas providers, including Vectren Corp., say prices have fallen significantly in the past five years due to increases in U.S. production.
