Message from the GM of YMCA Camping

Callum McKee Callum McKee

Things in the office just haven't been the same since the reunion. We're all a little bewildered that, after four years of planning, excitement and anticipation, the event has come and gone in what seemed like a blink of an eye! What a wonderful night it was! We are still hearing from people about how much they enjoyed the evening, and how many people they were thrilled to reconnect with. This was also a wonderful personal experience for many of our staff that are involved in our system. We thank those who came for being a part of the event.

To those who donated, either before, during and/or after the event, we are grateful and excited to tell you that we are in varying phases of planning and construction of the Belwood swimming pool, the Ki-Wa-Y Greenhouse and Garden, and the Wab dining hall expansion.

Again, thank you for joining us for the evening and for being a part of our past, present and future. No matter how long ago, every person there touched our camp community in some way, and we're thrilled that you joined us to reconnect. Rarely can we stand under one roof with so many folks who can all understand and appreciate the sentiments of an unknown observer: Camp. To some, this word has no meaning. To others, no words can describe it.

Wishing you and your family an enjoyable summer!

Pay it Forward...The Tradition of Camping

As alumni, we can remember how our camp experience challenged us to become more independent and accept responsibility, while realizing the value of becoming a contributing member of a unique community. Today we can reminisce about the lifelong memories and friendships forever close to our hearts, and ensure the tradition of camping can be relived by many generations of children and youth to come.
