Save the Date - Plaza Dedication
Finishing touches to the Memorial Plaza are in process. A ceremony to dedicate the Plaza and Veteran's Memorial to our community is scheduled for Memorial Day, May 29 at 11:00 am. Immediately following this dedication, the American Legion will have a Veteran's Ceremony. 
Opening for Chamber/EDC Intern
The Chamber/EDCis looking for a paid intern to do marketing and outreach for 15-20 hours per week. Position available from present to November 2017. Gain valuable knowledge in networking possibilities, career opportunities, and real world business experience, plus gain a wonderful asset to include on your resume. Deadline to apply is April 12.

Ameren Illinois will present on their Energy Efficiency Programs and cash incentives that are available for Morton area businesses to take advantage of.  The presentation will also include examples of area businesses that have received Ameren Illinois incentives and were able to install energy efficient equipment to lower their natural gas and electric bills. Presenter: John Beintema, LEED Green Associate. Lunch Provided.

Welcome Lenora Fisher!
Lenora Fisher is joining our team as Community Development Director for the Economic Development Council and Chamber of Commerce. She will be focusing on business assistance, website data and marketing, workforce initiatives and community projects. Lenora's extensive background in public engagement, small business marketing and development, and grant experience will be welcomed to our organizations. 

"I am excited about working with Morton businesses, entrepreneurs, and residents to ensure continued success and economic growth", said Lenora. Join us for the Morton Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Outing. Cost includes lunch, green fee, cart and dinner. $35 for non-golfers who want to join us for dinner at approximately 5 pm. Proceeds go to Project Pumpkin, an endowment fund the Morton Chamber launched in 2013 in partnership with the Morton Community Foundation. The purpose of the fund is to provide access to the Pumpkin Festival for families in need of our community.

The Morton Villas of Hollybrook dining room is open to the public every day from 7 to 9 am for breakfast, 11 am to 1 pm for lunch, and 4:30 to 6 pm for dinner. Meals are served buffet style. All you can eat for $8 each.

Chamber Welcomes New Members for 2017
The Morton Park District provides recreation opportunities to the public and manages over 300 acres of property in Morton.

Locally owned and operated, they have been serving the Greater Peoria area since 1898, and are proud of their strong customer service and a conservative banking philosophy. The doors are now open at their new Morton location at 805 W. Jackson St.

The Morton Chamber Government Affairs committee will be hosting Illinois Senator Brady and the Illinois Chamber of Commerce at Freedom Hall. They will share legislative updates along with briefings on upcoming bills impacting business, health, education and infrastructure.
