FALL 2012 SEASON
It is hard to believe that Labor Day has come and gone and the fall fishing season is among us already. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers and clients for all the support this year. We have had some of our best fishing ever this year and we are looking forward to a potentially epic fall fishing season. The wet weather we have experienced over the past 2 months has kept our streams and aquifers full. Water flow is always the biggest factor of successful fall fishing and it is looking like we will have incredible water levels for the next few months. Below you will find info on our shop expansion, private water opportunities, an upcoming film festival, a Tenkara Seminar with owner of Tenkara USA's Daniel Galhardo, our Fall 2012 Open House, and new product we have coming in the next few months.

MOSSY CREEK STORE EXPANSION!!!
Are there any fly tying enthusiasts out there that would like to see one of the biggest fly tying selections available in the Mid Atlantic? Are you sick and tired of only finding pieces and parts of your fly tying list? We hope to be the solution to your fly tying needs! We are currently in the process of building out an additional 300 square feet of pure fly tying heaven in our shop. Not only will this allow for a ridiculous amount of new fly tying product, but it will also allow for more gear and tackle in our main storefront! We hope to have the new fly tying room completed in the next few weeks and will have new product coming in October. We would like your input!!! Feel free to email the shop with requests on items that have been difficult to find as we would like to accommodate all the hardcore fly tiers in our region!

Private Water Opportunities
Private fishing water is a controversial topic these days, especially with the ongoing Jackson River Lawsuit. We believe the policy of every responsible fly shop is to help maintain open public water and continue to look for opportunities to open new water to the public. We work very closely with VDGIF, Trout Unlimited, and local landowners to try to open new water for everyone to enjoy. However, many landowners are reluctant to open their land to the general public. Every stretch of water our shop currently manages has never been open public water and none of it is deemed navigable. We have very strong relationships with our local landowners and employ best management practices on their lands to exclude cattle, improve stream quality, and manage quality fisheries. Our shop currently manages nearly 9 miles of water and we are very proud to offer some of the best trout fishing in the State right here in the Shenandoah Valley. Most of our water is available for guided trips only. What sets our shop apart from others as we do not charge additional rod fees or access fees to fish our guided private waters. Rod fees are only necessary to book and fish Susie Q Farm on an unguided fly fishing only, catch and release only stream. We currently have access to 2 private stretches of Mossy Creek, 3 stretches of Beaver Creek, 1 stretch of Spring Creek, 1 stretch of Smith Creek, Stoney Creek at Wintergreen Resort, and parts of North River. We are currently working to expand fishing opportunities at a new spring pond for our fly fishing schools as well as potentially a new stretch of Spring Creek and Mossy Creek! As always we are hoping to bring our clients the best possible fishing experience while responsibly enhancing the fishing opportunities in our area. |

We are excited to host Tenkara USA founder and owner, Daniel Galhardo for a day of Tenkara presentations, demos, and on stream instruction! Come learn all you need to know about Tenkara, the fastest growing niche in fly fishing, from the master himself! Saturday morning presentations and seminars will be free to the public.
