Mother's Day in the Fashion District

LA Flower Markets
Mother's Day is the busiest holiday of the year for the district's flower markets. The LA Flower Market and California Flower Mall will have extended hours starting the week of May 8. The LA Flower Market's hours can be found here. California Flower Mall is expected to open 24 hours on Saturday, May 13 through Sunday, May 14. 

"Best Mom Ever" Contest
The California Flower Mall has announced the launch of the "Best Mom Ever Photo & Video Contest." Participating flower vendors would like to show their appreciation for Moms by awarding daily flower arraignments valued at $50-$80. Two grand prize arraignments of $300-$500 will also be awarded. Contestants can enter, daily, by posting a photo or a video of themselves and a Mom to Facebook and Instagram tagging #CFMMothersDay. Click here to visit the contest site.

L.A. Conservancy's Last Remaining Seats Kicks Off in the Fashion District June 3rd

The LA Conservancy's signature series, Last Remaining Seats will kick off in the LA Fashion District with a screening of L.A. Confidential at The Orpheum Theatre on Saturday, June. 3. Last Remaining Seats presents films as they were meant to be seen: on the big screen, in a beautiful theatre, surrounded by fellow fans, and accompanied by vintage cartoons, special guests, and more.  Learn more .

FREE Bulky Item Drop Off 3rd
The City of Los Angeles' Department of Sanitation is offering 5 Saturdays of bulky item drop off from 8 am - 4:30 pm for Los Angeles residents throughout the City. Residents must prove residency by providing their most current LADWP bill along with a state-issued ID.

Mermaid on Main
Oakland-based artist, Hueman recently completed a colorful mural at 828 Main St, title "Mermaid on Main." The mural shows the back of a woman's head, her colorful purple mane flowing behind her. It's the artists largest mural to date and the sixth mural to go up in the Fashion District. See it at 9th and Main Streets.
