Business License Tax Meetings and Survey

Continuing the City of Mountain View’s long tradition of forward thinking and thorough planning, City leaders are evaluating options for funding critical long-term needs, such as transportation, housing, and other vital services. One option the City is exploring is a funding measure on the 2018 ballot to restructure the City’s Business License Tax (BL).

On behalf of the City of Mountain View and the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce, we would like to invite you, or a representative of your business, to attend one of two upcoming meetings to learn more about this and to share your feedback on potentially restructuring the City’s BL. Both meetings will be held at Mountain View City Hall 500 Castro Street, 2 nd floor in the Plaza Conference Room.

Thursday, May 10 at 8:00am
Monday, May 14 at noon

May 9: Business Issues & Public Policy Meeting

 Identifies and acts on key issues of interest to Mountain View businesses. Areas of focus include local, state and federal legislative issues, as well as business and industry related issues such as transportation, development, regulation and business trends. The committee meets on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. 12:00pm – 1:30pm at the Chamber.

The San Francisco Bay Area’s popular outdoor festival season officially springs into action on May 5-6 in downtown Mountain View where cool, bustling, stroll-friendly Castro Street is transformed into a resplendent sea of people and colorful tents for A La Carte & Art. A big bash 22nd annual celebration is on tap with a large crowd expected to gather in Silicon Valley’s epicenter for this beloved springtime festival of the arts. Citizen Task Force Seeks to Curb Emissions

Last year the City Council appointed 33 members to an Environmental Sustainability Task Force and asked it to recommend ways that the community could dramatically cut its emissions of greenhouse gasses. The Task Force has met monthly and expects to present its recommendations to the Council in June. Its meetings are open to the public, and take place on the second floor of City Hall in either the Council Chambers or the Plaza Conference Room. Dates of upcoming meetings are: May 3, May 17, May 24 and June 7. All meetings start at 6:30 PM.
