Sisters Acquiring Financial Empowerment (SAFE)
and its Executive Board of Directors is mourning the loss of

Betty J. Johnson-Risker

SAFE Executive Board Member
and SAFE's Executive Director, Kalyn Risker's Mother.

Betty J. Johnson-Risker was a Founding member of SAFE's Executive Board of Directors and faithfully served until she unexpectedly passed on November 15, 2013.

Betty J. Risker, was an awesome Executive Board member of SAFE who actively sought out sponsors, donations.  She volunteered and assisted survivors of domestic violence that participate in SAFE's programs.  In addition, she represented SAFE at various community outreach events, domestic violence task force and steering committee meetings.

Betty was innovative and passionate in her approach to supporting the work of ending violence against all women.  Betty bridged the gap for senior citizen survivors of domestic violence to connect with SAFE services.  As a result many senior survivors received the support they needed to become financially independent from abuse.   Her energy and zeal for SAFE engaged all she connected with.

Betty J. Johnson Risker was a Mother, Grandmother, community advocate and faithful Christian believer who loved others and encouraged everyone she met.

Betty J. Johnson-Risker's presence will forever be missed but her legacy will continue to live on.
