This Weekend's Music Lineup First Timers Plus a Rookery Veteran
Hitting the Rookery stage this Friday evening for the first time is a father/son acoustic duo out of Washburn. The Blong Boys perform a combination of originals and covers, ranging from the Rolling Stones, to John Mayer, Eric Clapton, and Robert Cray.Their music has been described as soulful, jazzy, bluesy pop...with a smattering of reggae.
It's looking as though it will be a nearly perfect Friday evening (5-8 PM) for live outdoor music, sunny and around 70 degrees. Take full advantage and come on out to give the Blong Boys a warm Rookery welcome!
Then on Sunday afternoon (2-5 PM) honky tonk singer/songwriter Fizz Kizer returns to the Rookery for about the umpteenth time. Always an audience favorite, Fizz has performed here several times each summer since we first began offering live outdoor music. He especially loves writing and playing songs about the outdoors. His debut album, The River Road, featured stories about the rivers and streams he's known. More recently Fizz recorded a second full length effort of all original songs entitled, In A Honkytonk Glow.
Come experience for yourself why we keep inviting Fizz back to the Rookery year after year. We hope to see you Sunday afternoon!
