GET READY TO "HIGH FIVE" US!high five logo
As a volunteer-led organization for the past five years, we have been able to empower many single mothers as well as position Project Single Moms Worldwide Inc., as the nation's first-of-its-kind, premier organization serving and representing the voices of almost 12 million single mothers in America.

Quite simply, it takes money to move a mission and for the first time in our existence, we are asking you to help us continue to help and serve single mothers and their children by making a "High Five" donation to support and expand our efforts.  We are not asking for a "hand out" but a "hand up" to allow us to create educational, employment and entrepreneurial opportunities to help single mothers (adults & teens) become economically self-sufficient.

Business women

We know that there are many successful, educated, employed and self-employed single mothers who are making positive contributions in their families, communities and their workplace.  We applaud and celebrate them and call upon them to help us move other single mothers who have not yet risen to those ranks forward.

Let's talk about poverty in America for a moment.  The sad reality is that the faces of poverty in America are single mothers and their children.
  • More than 80% of African American and Latina children live in poverty in our country.
  • The share of families with children that are headed by single mothers has risen steadily over the past decades.
  • A higher percentage of U.S. children live in a single-parent households than do children in all other industrialized countries.
  • More than 7 in 10 children living with a single mother are living in a low-income household.
  • Unemployment among single mothers has almost doubled and remains at the highest level since the recession began.

Need we say more and why there is a need for Project Single Moms Worldwide and why we need your support more than ever!  We desire to empower single mothers to lead the change they desire in their lives and for their children.

As we prepare to celebrate this Mother's Day, please make a "High Five" donation in honor of your mom or a single mother you know.  Click below to "High Five" Us!

Project Single Moms Celebrates 5th Anniversary
in July & Launches High Five Campaign
high five logo
Project Single Moms Worldwide, Inc. is so proud and excited to celebrate our 5th Anniversary milestone and plans to present a series of 5th Anniversary events in Atlanta throughout this year. In addition, we are launching our "High Five" Campaign to raise $500,000 over the next five years to establish and maintain our first Success Empowerment Center for Single Mothers (SEC) in Atlanta. SEC will serve as a one-stop source for single mothers and women in transition (i.e., domestic violence survivors, military widowers, divorcees, women veterans, unemployed/underemployed, etc.) providing job training, small business training, financial education and a host of other services and resources to help single mothers and women in transition become economically self-sufficient.  Stay tuned for details on how you can make a "High Five" donation in support of our 5th Anniversary and the Success Empowerment Center for Single Mothers.

If you are interested in supporting our 5th Anniversary "High Five" Campaign as a donor or corporate sponsor, please email us at
National Advocacy Week - May 7 -11,2012
Congressman David Scott
PSM Atlanta leaders met with Congressman David Scott, 13th District, this week

It's time to SPEAK UP! Project Single Moms Worldwide, Inc. is launching our first National Advocacy Week (NAW) online campaign this coming week, May 7-11, 2012, just before Mother's Day.

The purpose of National Advocacy Week is to educate and inform our constituents (i.e., media, legislators, White House officials, community groups, any and everyone) about the Project Single Moms movement as well as statistics and information they need to know about those single mothers who are doing well and those who are not doing so well in our country.  We want to use the power of social media to spread our message and to let everyone know that there is a national movement working on behalf of and providing a voice for single mothers in our country.

You do not need to be a single mom to participate and support our National Advocacy Week.  We have made it very easy for any person to participate. It only requires 5-10 minutes of your time each day next week. If you would like to learn more about supporting our National Advocacy Week  efforts, please click below.  We need every single mother and those who support us to join us in this effort to let our voices be heard!  There is power in numbers and your voices matter!  Please get involved and become a part of helping create the change we all desire for single mothers and their children in our country.

My Hero Mom

CALLING ALL ADULT CHILDREN RAISED BY SINGLE MOTHERS!

It's time to raise your voices to tell the world how special your single mom is to you.  It's time to celebrate those single mothers who have been triumphant in taking care of their households and raising their children to become healthy, productive, and successful adult members of society. Project Single Moms Worldwide, Inc. salutes those single mothers who are often misjudged and stigmatized because they were placed in a position to parent on their own due to their life circumstances. We are using our national platform to allow adult children raised by single mothers an opportunity to celebrate their hero moms.

Beginning Mother's Day and each week following, we will feature the story, photo and/or video submitted by adult children telling us why their single mom is a hero to them and how she impacted their lives to become successful, productive adults.  We are accepting submissions now. So, moms please forward this email to your adult children and tell them to submit their "My Hero Mom" story about you!  We can not wait to read about you, share your story and to celebrate you!  Below, is a list of what we need your adult children to submit to us:

  • In 500 words or less, tell us why your single mom is your "Hero Mom."
  • Send us a nice, quality photo of your mom or mom with her children in a jpeg format.
  • Be creative and use your webcam or video recorder from your smart phone and record yourself telling us about your "Hero Mom" in a 30-90 second video message. Upload your video to YouTube, then send us the URL link for your video.
  • Click below to email all of the above us.

I WANT TO CELEBRATE MY HERO MOM

Once we have received all of your submission items, you will receive a brief data form to be completed as well as a media release form which will need an adult's signature granting us permission to use your images and video on our website as it relates to the My Hero Mom campaign.

Shot@Life is a national initiative designed to create awareness and to raise funds to provide immunizations to children in underdeveloped countries in Africa, Asia and Mexico.  For only $20, a child can receive four important vaccinations protecting them against measles, diarrhea, polio and pneumonia. PSM Worldwide's goal is to help 100 single moms in these countries vaccinate their children. If you would like to support this cause, please email Stephanie at sclark@projectsinglemoms.com. Daring to Go Deeper to Move Single Moms from Dependency Toward Self-Sufficiency
PEP photo
Project Single Moms Atlanta launched a pilot program called "From Dependency to Self-Sufficiency" which targets low-income single moms residing in Section 8 public housing communities. PSM Atlanta is providing a graduated series of empowerment programs to help move single moms from the Allen Hills apartment community from living in a state of dependency toward personal achievement of economic self-sufficiency. Single moms are pictured above with their vision boards.
Boot Camp Leaders
Single moms at Allen Hills participated in an Empowerment Boot Camp to get rid of the M.E.S.S. (Mental, Emotional & Spiritual Strains) in their lives. The goal is to help them become free of their M.E.S.S. so they will become motivated to do the work necessary to move forward in areas of their lives.
