Kids' Literary Festival May 16 - 18

Big Blue Marble is proud to announce our 8th Annual Kids' Literary Festival! This year is bigger and better than ever, with authors, books, improv games, prizes, a PJ and Pizza party, writing and book making, a Harry Potter party, and a Where's Waldo? hunt.

All Events Are Free

Highlights include:

Friday, 7pm:  PJS, Pizza, and Bedtime Math party

Saturday, 10am: There are Bugs in the Woods!

Saturday, 1 pm:  Judy Schachner

Saturday, 2 pm:  Where's Waldo? hunt, as part of the Henry School Fun Fit Fest

Saturday, 3 pm: Middle Grade Author Round Table with Jill Santopolo, Shawn Stout, and Kathy Van Cleve

Saturday, 7 pm: Harry Potter Back to the Beginning

Sunday, Noon:  David Wiesner

Sunday, 3-5 pm:  A Poetry workshop (Ages 12+)  and Bookmaking Class (Ages 8+)

Big Blue Marble Bookstore will have our special craft table open all weekend, stocked with brightly colored paper, collage materials, and all kinds of other supplies to create your own books!
(All Ages. Adult Supervision Required.)

More Than Words: A challenge for everyone who's been asking for more diversity in kids' books

Publishing for children and young adults in the U.S. can be a very white world. Authors and Independent bookstores are organizing to change this!
 
Authors Kate Messner and Shannon Hale have challenged Indie bookstores to make the page-turning new novel The Great Greene Heist a best seller. The bookstores that sell the most copies are eligible for great prizes, which we'll happily share with customers who pre-order a copy.

The Great Greene Heist comes out on May 27, so we'll be taking pre-orders during the Kids' Lit Festival. All orders placed from now until Monday May 19th will be given a 20% discount.
