May 28th, 2017

By definition, a fixer upper is a house that can be made a home through a renovation process. It does not happen overnight, but with a heart that is open to correction, reproof, and encouragement our lives can change. We have to invite others into our lives and recognize  this line between judgement and conviction and allow the work of God to take place.

Don't miss this Sunday and hear what Jesus has to say about a judgmental heart vs a discerning heart. Dr. Bill Bouknight will be teaching in the Sanctuary and Reverend Drew Martin will be teaching in the Auditorium.

VBS 2017 - Maker Fun Factory

Maker Fun Factory VBS plans are well underway with 1400 children registered and 550 volunteers committed to serve.
Have you registered your kids? Invited your neighbors kids? Register today to ensure a spot! We are still looking for close to 500  more adult volunteers who will commit to serve in some capacity to make VBS a life changing experience. While crew guides for the AM and AF sessions are the greatest need, we can use people to help in all areas.  To register a child to participate, volunteer to serve, or for more information, click here.

Adult Summer Studies

The Parables
Wednesdays 6:15-7:30 PM
Great stories have this way of going around our heads and instead they often speak to our hearts. Jesus was without a doubt the greatest story teller who ever lived. His preferred method of teaching was through parable. Many of these stories have shaped our world in unimaginable ways, and they have been opening people up the transforming power of God for nearly two thousand years. Who's to say they can't change us as well? Join us for this six week study through some of the parables of Jesus. Starting June 28th in the Student Room. MKids care is available but please register online.

Women's Book Club

Giddy Up, Eunice: Because Women Need Each Other  by Sophie Hudson
In her delightfully quirky Southern style readers have come to know and love, Sophie Hudson sends out a rallying cry for women everywhere to open our eyes and see the people God has put in our lives. It's easy for women to focus on what seems to separate us. The reality, though, is that we have far more in common than we realize, and since Scripture shows us the blessing of friendships across generations, it's time we step out of our same-age, same-style, same-stage silos. Starting June 28, join Lindsey Cunningham and Lynn Ullman as they share this book, and we come together to laugh and talk and walk with one another soaking up the blessings that flow across generations. Books available at amazon.com MKids care is available but please register online.

Women's Topical Study
Sundays 600-730 PM
Made to Crave: Satisfying Your Deepest Desire with God, Not Food  by Lysa Terkeurst
The reality is, we were made to crave. Craving isn't a bad thing. But we must realize God created us to crave more of him. Many of us have misplaced that craving by overindulging in physical pleasures instead of lasting spiritual satisfaction. Made to Crave is the missing link between a woman's desire to be healthy and the spiritual empowerment necessary to make that happen. Starting July 9, join LeAnna Flynn for 6 weeks as she leads women through this perspective changing book. Books available at Lifeway or amazon.com.  (No MKids care available.)
