Fall 2013 Update

Hello Loyal Mt Abram Customers,

We hope you have had a great summer and are starting to get excited for the upcoming ski and ride season. Over the summer, we have had some organizational changes and other big news.

New Hires in the Off Season

Mountain Rider's Alliance's Dave Scanlan Hired as General Manager

Continuing our partnership with Mountain Rider's Alliance, Mt Abram has hired Dave Scanlan to be our general manager. In addition, Mt Abram has hired MRA's Pete Blanchard as assistant GM, Jamie Schectman as director of marketing and community development, and Dave's wife Lana Scanlan as director of food and beverage. MRA is excited to join the existing team members to usher in a new ski season at Mt Abram.

MRA has been working with Mt Abram since the 2010-2011 season and will continue collaborating with the community to ensure Mt Abram will achieve its highest potential.

Chef Joel Returns

After a several year hiatus, we are pleased to have Joel Kane return to Mt Abram. Joel brings many years of culinary expertise and a new energy to the kitchen.

Courtney Poston Promoted to Head Coach

We are excited to announce that Courtney Poston has been promoted to head coach. Courtney is a multi-generational and passionate Mt Abram skier, who will be a great leader of our race program.

Deb Doyle named Day Care Director

Deb Doyle joins the team as Day Care Director. With over 10 years of childcare and early education experience, as well as her own West Bethel facility, Deb is excited to connect with children and families at Mt Abram. We look forward to developing this program for the benefit of both our guests and employees.

Enhancing the Family Experience

One of Mt Abram's strongest attributes is its family environment. We will be making a dedicated effort to focus on a great experience for the whole family. We are currently reviewing offerings like day care, after-school programs, and kid's activities, so look forward to more details on these for the season ahead.

Tubing Returns!

Based on guest demand, we are pleased to announce the return of tubing for the upcoming season. Located at the Mini T, adjacent to the Main Lodge. Tubing will be open Fridays from 4 to 7 pm and weekends and holidays from 11 am to 3 pm.

Snowmaking on Lower Easy Rider

To ensure better connectivity between the Main Lodge and Westside, we are installing snowmaking on Lower Easy Rider. Mountain Operations Manager Brian and the team have been busy laying pipe this summer. We look forward to providing families a better connection between the two sides.

Mark your calendars to join us for our annual Oktoberfest celebration.

There will be kids' activities, live "Good Time Rock and Roll with Carl Vee", a Fish Fry courtesy of the Greenwood Fire Department, a Dryland Training demonstration, and a whole bunch more.
