* MUDDY BOOTS: 3 Farmer Collaborative CSA *

with pickup at Kingsbury Market Garden

Kingsbury Market Garden, Burnt Rock Farm & Woods Market Garden are joining forces this year to offer a CSA. The model is tried -n- true as they filled boxes bound for the outskirts of Boston during the 2012 growing season. Having had so much success there- Aaron, Justin & Jon have decided to offer a similar model locally.

As a team, these three farmers steward over 50 acres of field crops and 1 acre under the controlled environment of high tunnels and/or greenhouses. If one farmer loses a crop, another can step in to fill the larder.  If one farm falls victim to a micro burst of torrential rainfall, another will most likely be spared. Given the predictably unpredictable nature of climate & farming which we have necessarily come to expect,  this seems a most practical model for safeguarding the customer's investment in a CSA. It also allows each farmer to focus on what they do best and what their soils & environment are most suited to grow. While Jon might provide you with dry beans & a bottle of on farm processed canola oil- Aaron will provide you with early and late salad greens. While Justin can focus on storage staples such as winter squash & onions- Jon will bring you delicacies such as early sweet corn & strawberries.  While Aaron allots an entire high tunnel to ripening colorful sweet peppers, Justin designates his greenhouse real estate for melons... and so on!
