Muscle News Vol I.36:  No Pain No Drugs

Opiate Free Pain Relief - Why It's Needed Now:
Happy 2015 from your Muscle News team!

This year brings with it the tightest regulation of pain medication yet, and another driving force behind the mission of Muscle News!

Speaking of which, why DO we do what we do?  Why DO we hammer this topic so much?

Every issue of Muscle News, we take the time to put together a simple easy-to-follow set of instructions for relieving pain and improving your physical health.  We do our best to make it light and fun and keep the information positive and motivational ...

But on our side, there is also a not so pretty picture that motivates us ... a picture we see all the time that urges us to keep going in our mission of service ...

It is the picture of a human being whose freedom to enjoy life has been taken from them by chronic pain and degeneration.  It may sound dramatic, but in truth it is difficult to describe the emotions that erupt when we think of someone whose life has been reduced to a battle against pain when it was UNNECESSARY and PREVENTABLE with something so simple that we have sitting right here in our toolbox...

TOOLBOX of PAIN RELIEF

We have hands.  We have elbows.  We have straps and balls and tools with knobs on them.  We have mats and floors and limbs and everything we need to avoid this picture of misery.

As trigger point therapists and providers of products and information, we often feel a sense of urgency to get these tools into the hands of as many people as possible!

We not only spend time in the room with patients ... our work doesn't come close to ending there.  We get together as professionals to discuss solutions.  We travel to other cities to take ongoing professional training.  We talk about trigger point therapy at the dinner table.  Frankly, our friends and families are sometimes sick of it, but when they see how we have helped someone get her life back, they understand our passion!

Often times, people in pain have nowhere else to turn besides pills and patches and surgeries that hurt in other ways.  It is so easy to become dependent on pain medication that doesn't solve a single problem and brings a host of new complications.  Addiction is so prevalent that stricter laws have recently been enacted to limit their prescription.  With new regulations on pain medication, it is only getting harder to get the relief that is needed.

We are here to show that there is another way.  It isn't hard.  It isn't costly.  It does have side effects, but they are all good ones that multiply in physical, biochemical and mental/emotional ways.

It is called SELF-CARE, and it's not optional if you want a pain free life.  It's not optional if you want to prevent your body from degenerating and aging sooner than it has to.  Some might go as far as to say that is not optional to be a fully realized human being.

And most importantly, as trigger point therapists and compassionate human beings, it's not optional for us to sit back and let human beings hurt or degenerate without the simple knowledge, tools, guidance and encouragement that it takes to live the healthiest and happiest pain free life possible!

On that note, in this issue, instead of giving you any new information, we're going to let the importance of SELF-CARE sink in and look at all that we've done so far since the very first issue of Muscle News

And we are going to ask for your help!  Below is a list of everything we've published so far.  Please share this with at least one other person you know who is in pain.  With the vast lack of education on Self-Care, someone in pain is unfortunately not hard to find.

Also, take a look at all you've learned.  Review the areas you need work on.  Crack open the issues you might have missed.  Get this part of your life straightened out for 2015!

We are here for you, and for those you care about!  Please help us help them!
