Greetings!
Happy New Year from all of us here at Music Time Academy! We hope that your holiday season was merry and bright, and that you are as excited for 2013 as we are. 2012 was a fantastic year for us, as we:
- Doubled the studio size in February (expanding into the back suite for 4 additional lesson rooms) - Added 3 new, wonderful instructors to our staff - Hosted 2 successful recitals at the Bothwell Arts Center (featuring over 120 live performances by students & instructors) - Organized our first all-student Rock Band - Expanded our Saturday hours to accommodate many more students - Welcomed Monica as our full-time office manager to ensure that all students and parents receive administrative assistance for retail items and scheduling issues during open hours - Launched this ever-so-insightful and informative newsletter to keep all students and parents up-to-date with studio news
As we look forward to an even better 2013 with more growth for our studio, staff, and (of course) students, we would like to launch 2 new sections of the newsletter, highlighting one student and one instructor each month. If you know a student or instructor with a newsworthy accomplishment, please see below for details on how to nominate a deserving candidate.

For more than 15 years, guitarist Brian Gore has united some of the world's foremost acoustic guitarists in a unique and intimate event that highlights collaboration and creativity. Joining Gore in 2013 are Scotland's Martin Taylor, known for his smooth chord-melody style, rhythmic master Solorazaf from Madagascar has a unique Malagasy style, mixing vocalizations with rhythmic guitar patterns and foot percussion, and Celso Machado, an internationally acclaimed classical guitar composer who blends Brazilian music with jazz, folk and world music influences.

Teacher Feature
For January, we would like to highlight one of the most recent additions to the Music Time team, Michael Stubblefield! Michael fits right in among our talented staff of multi-instrumental instructors. He offers instruction to students on: Piano, Guitar and Bass. As an experienced vocalist, he will soon be teaching Voice as well, once he completes a mentoring program led by current Voice instructors, Tim Garry and Xavier Guerrero. Michael is finishing up his Degree in Music Theory and Composition at Cal Sate East Bay this semester, and has an upcoming senior recital in composition on May 19th. He started teaching on Tuesdays, and has now expanded his schedule to include Thursdays and Saturdays.
