MYELOMA CANADA WELCOMES ANGELINA MAVRODIEVA
 TO THE TEAM
Join us
in welcoming Angelina Mavrodieva as the newest member of Myeloma Canada team. Angelina holds a certificate in financial planning from HEC in Montreal, as well as a Bachelor's degree in law and computer science from two universities in Bulgaria. In her role as Clerical Assistant, Angelina brings a valuable multidisciplinary background and many years of experience in accounting, data entry and financial reporting to the team. Angelina will provide accounting and financial reporting support to both Myeloma Canada and the Myeloma Canada Research Network.

MYELOMA CANADA'S INAUGURAL CASINO NIGHT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE OANA FAMILY
Myeloma Canada, in partnership with the Oana family, is extremely pleased to announce that the fundraising goal from the first annual Sam's Monte Carlo Casino Night was reached, with over $42,000 raised for the cause!

The inaugural Casino Night, held on October 29th, was in tribute to Richard Oana, a previous member of the Myeloma Canada Board of Directors and a well-respected member of the Montreal commercial real estate community. After an 8 1/2 year battle, Richard sadly succumbed to the disease in December of 2015.
 

THE MYELOMA CANADA MARION STATE MEMORIAL NURSING AWARD IS PRESENTED TO TIZIANA VADACCHINO

It is with great pleasure that we announce Tiziana Vadacchino, Stem Cell Nurse Clinician from the Jewish General Hospital (JGH) in Montreal is this year's recipient of the Myeloma Canada Marion State Memorial Nursing Award.

DEBBIE'S TIPS: NAVIGATING THE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM
 
Having trouble keeping track of all the prescriptions and dosages when you're away from home? I've got just the trick! Take a photo of the prescription labels with your smartphone, so you can refer back at any time.

Myeloma Canada's newly launched navigator program is spearheaded by Debbie Basevitz, a retired nurse and the wife and caregiver of a myeloma patient. The objective of the program is to provide helpful advice to myeloma patients and their caregivers on how to navigate the healthcare system. Available Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm Eastern Time, you can contact Debbie by email to arrange a mutually convenient time to begin your dialogue at   debbiebasevitz@gmail.com
