NAAAP-NY Monthly Newsletter
MARCH UPDATES

Greetings!

On February 12, 2014, NAAAP-NY kicked off its new Rising Leaders professional development series with a workshop on Networking to Re-energize Your Career. Attendees from a host of different professions gathered at the workshop to brush up on and learn some new techniques for effective networking.

At the interactive workshop, guests mingled and brushed up on networking skills.

Leading the interactive workshop was Ritu Banga, a career specialist who is also the Co-founder and Managing Director of Zoomdojo.com, a college to careers resource. Ritu highlighted the importance of identifying and tapping into the many networks we each have, the need to create an elevator pitch, the mechanics and basics of effective networking, and perhaps the most invaluable skill: how to be remembered in a sea of networkers. During the interactive portion of the workshop, Ritu had all attendees participate in an exercise that made it effortless for everyone to remember key things about each and every attendee. This new skill made the after-workshop cocktail reception that much more dynamic and livelier!

Stay tuned and join us for the next workshop in NAAAP-NY's new Rising Leaders workshop series.
