NAAB May 8: Canberra Accord 6th GM
Online Training Update
Canberra Accord 6th General Meeting
The Canberra Accord held its 6th General Meeting this past weekend.

On the agenda were the periodic reviews of two systems: ANPADEH (Mexico) and the KAAB (Korea). In addition, the signatories voted on whether to add a new system to the group.

The Accord, signed in 2008, recognizes the substantial equivalency of accreditation/validation/recognition systems for professional, architectural education in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Korea, China, and the Commonwealth. The Accord is intended to facilitate the portability of education credentials.
Online Team Training Starts Week of May 15

Online team training is expected to begin the week of May 15.

The training is mandatory for anyone who wishes to be nominated for a 2018 visiting team.

This earlier opening is the result of changes -- approved in February -- to the sequence for training, nominating, and approving teams.

Watch for a special announcement when the system is officially opened.

New Staff Leadership for EESA
Please join me in congratulating Kesha Abul-Mateen who has been promoted to the position of EESA Administrator.

In her new role, she will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Education Evaluation Services for Architects. Kesha has a deep familiarity with EESA. She has taken up the challenge of ensuring that EESA provides a valuable service to individuals -- without NAAB-accredited degrees -- seeking an NCARB Certificate or registration in a U.S. jurisdiction

Kesha has been with the NAAB since 2007 in a variety of roles, most recently as the Communications and Program Associate. Many of you know her from working on the ARS each year.
