Good Morning Everyone -

Well, this week was certainly a roller coaster, or as "The Dude' would say ' strikes and gutters, allot of up's and down's and what have you's".

We had a movie release of Sin City 2, TV debut of the 12th Doctor, the racy MTV VMA's and then an unexpected tragedy...the beautiful California wine country of Napa Valley was struck yesterday by a 6.1 earthquake and dozens of aftershocks.  One of it's humble residents is of my best buddies, comic creator Darick Robertson, co-creator and artist of Transmetropolitan, The Boys, Happy, Ballistic, Wolverine & many more.

He and his family were awaken at 4am  to a game changer earthquake. Most of their belongings in piles of rubble on the floor, no lights, no power and a lifetime of hard work and nerd-cave collection utterly ravaged.
We immediately made a call to action, enlisting my daughter to put together an impromtu lemonade stand and bake sale....just for starters.  As a result of our efforts we raised $400 yesterday which will help to start put their life back together.  They lost electronics, food, power and much more. If you want to help, here's a few ways:
-Shop at Golden Apple. We are giving a portion of all merchandise to his family for the next week or so.
-Buy one of these amazing Alex Ross designed Marvel statues. They sell for allot on eBay but coincidentally Darick put them on consignment last week at Golden Apple. ALL $$$ will go to him. 

 
This weekend is Labor Day and we are having our 35th Anniversary SALE with comics for only 35 cents!

Plus we will have a LIFE-SIZED DOCTOR WHO DALEK SPEAKER! This is not only a moving, talking replica, but it is also the loudest bluetooth speaker ever!
