| Pre-Production Moving Image Fund | DEADLINE: June 10
LEF New England launched the Moving Image Fund (MIF) to support independent film and video artists creating new work. In its transition from a broader to a more defined funding strategy, LEF is currently focusing MIF support on pre-production documentary filmmaking for this deadline. Eligible applicants may submit a proposal for a grant of up to $5,000 for pre-production activities. Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the LEF/New England office to determine level of interest prior to submitting a proposal.

| IDA Documentary Awards | REGULAR DEADLINE: June 21 LATE DEADLINE: July 6
IDA is proud to announce submissions are open for the 27th Annual IDA Awards. The IDA Documentary Awards is the foremost event dedicated to the art of documentary film. All winners will be honored at the IDA Documentary Awards Gala in Los Angeles, December 2, 2011. Entry is open to any documentary, non-fiction or factual program completed between July 1, 2010, and June 30, 2011, that qualifies as a feature, short, limited series, continuing series, or student documentary.

| Bridging Cultures Through Film Fund | DEADLINE: June 29
The Bridging Cultures Through Film: International Topics program supports projects that examine international and transnational themes in the humanities through documentary films. These projects are meant to spark Americans' engagement with the broader world by exploring one or more countries and cultures outside of the United States. Proposed documentaries must be analytical and deeply grounded in humanities scholarship.

DEADLINE: July 8
 The CPB/PBS Producers Academy is offering a "scholarship" opportunity to 25 individuals for a 7-day (Oct. 15-21) Producers Workshop to be held at WGBH Boston. Each scholarship will include the cost of the workshop and reasonable expenses for airfare, hotel accommodations, meals and limited ground transportation.
The goal of the Producers Workshop is to encourage a diverse and talented group of producers who will create new and greater programming achievements in public broadcasting.

Urban Mediamakers Film Festival (UMFF) is now accepting submissions for their 10th annual Film Festival taking place October 14-16, 2011, in Duluth, Georgia. UMFF is a competitive film and new media festival with awards and prizes for animations, documentaries, shorts, features, music videos, web/TV series, scripts and key art. A jury of industry professionals will deliberate and announce the results at UMFF closing event.

| LINCS Matching Funds | Linking Independents and Co-producing Stations (LINKS) is accepting year-round applications for its fund-matching initiative for producer-station partnerships. Up to $100,000 in matching funds is available for a single broadcast program. LINCS matching funds are based on secured funds and the station's in-kind contribution that the producer has already been able to confirm as of the date of the application.

Women & Girls Lead is an innovative public media initiative designed to focus, educate and connect women, girls and their allies across the globe to address the challenges of the 21st century.
Women and girls everywhere are stepping into leadership roles--working to improve their communities. This initiative, lead by ITVS, brings together independent filmmakers, public media, NGOs, government, business, academia and Hollywood--with support from an adivsory board chaired by CPB President & CEO Patricia Harrison. Among the many members are Geena Davis, Abigail Disney, America Ferrera, Eileen Fisher, Paula Kerger, Lidia Bastianich, Nancy G. Brinker and many more.
PBS will serve as the primary television partner in the U.S., offering programs on Independent Lens, Frontline, P.O.V. and other strands alongside television partners in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
