The Sarah Jacobson Film Grant plans to give out three grants ($1000 - $2000) to support projects in any stage of completion from pre-production through distribution. They are open to films of any length and genre that in some way embody Sarah's spirit and represent the values that she articulated: powerful representations of women, a do-it-yourself approach to filmmaking and life, and a passionate commitment to advancing equality without sacrificing fun.

Transom Story Workshop

The Transom Story Workshop is now open for applications from emerging producers. The workshop is an eight-week long session from April 2 through May 25, 2012. Participants will leave the workshop with a portfolio of pieces, audio editing software, and a well-practised set of skills in interviewing, story-building, writing, editing, and mixing on digital audio workstations, along with connections in the radio world.

Seattle International Film Festival

Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) is seeking features, documentaries, short films, and animations for the 38th annual festival. This is one of the largest and most highly attended film festivals in the U.S., with 250 feature/documentary films and 125 short films. SIFF has over 155,000 attendees annually, and is consistently cited as one of the best "audience festivals" in the world.

ITVS's Women & Girls Lead Says: Man Up! | |

The Man Up Campaign is a global effort activating young women and men to stop violence against women and girls. The initiative formally launched during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, bringing together a diverse group of up to 100 women and men (ages 18 to 30) from 25 countries. Occurring at the University of Johannesburg, this international forum was the first of its kind to develop capacity and technical expertise among young people of both genders, who are committed to stopping violence against women and girls.
