Call for Photographs

 

Seeking BC First Nations and Métis photographs for inclusion in
Family and Parenting Booklets

 

The First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) and the National Collaborating Centre for Aboriginal Health (NCCAH) are seeking photographs of First Nations and Métis families in BC to be included in four early childhood development and health promotion booklets for Indigenous families.

 

We will provide $20.00 honorarium for each photograph accepted and used in the booklets.

 

 

Guidelines for submission

 

Photographic submissions can only be accepted if they are submitted by the photographer of the photo. They must show positive and safe parenting practices, such as breastfeeding, putting babies to sleep on their back, etc. They must be submitted in a high resolution jpg format and include a signed permission form for each person in the photograph. In the case of persons under the age of 18 years, the permission form must be signed by the parent or legal guardian of those individuals.

 

 

Procedures for submission and acceptance for publication

 
  • Send submission via email to Roberta Stout (NCCAH) at [email protected]
  • Include your name, Nation/community affiliation, mailing address, phone number and email address with your submission(s).
  • If your submission has been accepted for inclusion, you will be contacted by us to sign permission and/or release forms. Payment of honorarium will be arranged at that time.
  • The deadline for submissions is August 1, 2018.

Each booklet will have a special focus area and include sections on what parents should expect during the pre-conception and pregnancy stages, and at each stage of a child's development from birth, 0-6 months, 7-12 months, 2-3 years, and 4-6 years.
