BRUNSWICK – The All Daughter’s Lunch held at Bennett’s Corners Community United Methodist Church April 28 had with close to 70 ladies in attendance. After lunch, attendees were left laughing by Pastor Amy Shipley’s portrayal of famed comedian Minnie Pearl before being entertained by the music of Karen and Christopher Ellicott of the group Sunday in the Park. A sing-a-long with tunes themed to April showers and summer breezes ended the afternoon.

CAMPERSHIP REQUESTS
If you have a child/youth in your church interested in attending a UM summer camp but finances are constrained, please have them apply for a District Campership (scholarship). Maximum award is $100 per student. Campership
Funds are primarily available for children and youth who would not otherwise be able to attend camp. You can find the application on the District Website under "Forms"

50+ Club Trip
You are invited!
August 16 - 18
There are seats available for the 50+ Club of Mt. Pleasant Church of Cleveland to Lancaster, Pa., to see the play “Jesus” at the Sight and Sound Theater. It is a two day trip to Lancaster Pa., on Thursday and Friday to see the play, and spend the day on Friday seeing sights of Lancaster. On Saturday we will go to Hershey PA., for a day of sights and shopping.
The dates are August 16-18, 2018. The cost is $440 based on double occupancy.

Jane will also share about suicidal awareness and treatment. This seminar is open to the surrounding communities so please invite your family and friends as we seek to better understand this important topic.

Time and again, we have heard from alums and friends of the seminary who are looking to learn, develop, and practice mission-based organizing and leadership skills. As a result, Garrett-Evangelical has teamed up with Episcopal Diocese of Chicago, the Northern Illinois Conference of the UMC, and the Fourth Episcopal District of the AME, to create Freedom's Journey, a five-day community organizing workshop to be held June 18-22, 2018.
Led by Gerald Taylor, one of the most creative, experienced organizers and strategic campaign planners and trainers in the country with more than 50 years of experience, this workshop will provide power-based, effective, and relational community organizing training. This workshop is ecumenical and interfaith and open to both clergy and laity.
You can register today with a deposit of $200. Registration must be paid in full by June 1, 2018. Your registration fee includes:
- 40 hours of training
- All course materials
- Morning refreshments and lunch
- Transit (daily parking or public transit)
- A certificate of completion
- 4 Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

would be responsible for playing and directing several choirs, ranging from traditional gospel to contemporary gospel. It would also include leading congregational hymns from the "Methodist Hymnal" and "Songs of Zion."
The Percussionist
would follow the same schedule as the musician/choir director.

at Good Shepherd UMC
Good Shepherd Church is looking for candidates to fill the position of part-time organist / chime choir director. The organist would be joining a ministry team that is committed to providing engaging and innovative worship to assist the community in lifting praise to God through music. The organist provides music primarily for the 9:15 worship service on Sunday morning as well rehearsing with and accompanying the choir at that service. Music is to be played on both the organ, which is a Rodgers hybrid pipe-electronic, and on our grand piano. The Chime Choir plays monthly (Sept- May) and Rehearsals for both the Chime Choir and Chancel Choir are on Wednesday nights from 6:00-8:30p. The Early Learning Center is seeking a part-time (about 15 hours per week) Business Manager/Bookkeeper. The duties, include managing financial aspects of the ELC: payroll and other employee matters; managing receipts and expenses, including check writing; and preparing reports for agencies related to early childhood education. The Business Manager also acts as administrator of ProCare, the software system used for accounting and other aspects of the ELC operation. While applicants need not be familiar with ProCare, specifically, they should have experience with a computerized accounting system. (Applicants will be supplied with a detailed job description.) The Business Manager works closely with the Director of the ELC and reports monthly to the Board of Directors. East Ohio Conference Council On Ministries is accepting applications for persons interested in serving as an administrative intern in the Council On Ministries Office. Interested applicants must email a letter of interest and current resume to

The Administrative Intern is responsible for organizing administrative, accounting, and clerical tasks as well as communications, answering the telephone, email, and other areas of responsibility.
