Learn about your vision health

Getting an annual eye exam is more than healthy vision, it can also help you manage your overall health and well being. An eye exam can recognize the early signs of diabetes, high blood pressure, and other serious health conditions.

EyeMed has developed EyeSiteOnWellness.com to help answer questions about your eye health and learn the many benefits of regular eye exams.

You’ll find wellness videos and articles focused on specific vision related issues in the following categories: Healthy vision, Eyewear, Vision by age, Vision technology, and Vision guides.

FSA filing deadline

Participants of the Health Care and Dependent Day Care Flexible Spending Accounts have until April 30th, 2018 to submit 2017 claims for anything incurred through March 15th, 2018.

There remains over 2 million dollars in unclaimed $ and over 1700 active employees have not filed a single claim. If you were contacted by NCFlex previously with a list of participants with money remaining, please try reaching back out to these employees.

Claims can be uploaded online at www.padmin.com/ncflex (see How to Upload Your FSA Claim for more details) or a claim form can be completed and faxed or mailed (contact information is on the form).
Vision vendor reminder

As of 1/1/2018 EyeMed took the place of Superior Vision as our new Vision vendor. Superior Vision continues to receive payments from members on LOA and going onto COBRA. Please be sure to update any communications to your employees to let them know who to contact for payments.

LOA: If vision benefits are termed in Benefitfocus due to LOA, no premiums are due to the vendor until the employee reinstates. Benefit coverage continues during this time. Otherwise premiums should be remitted as if the employee were active.

Separation: EyeMed's COBRA Plan Administrator is Forrest T. Jones & Company, P.O. Box 418131 Kansas City, MO 64141, (800) 821-7303

NCFlex Exceptions

As a reminder, as of the beginning of March, NCFlex is no longer considering open enrollment exception requests. However, we understand that one of the bigger issues was employees enrolling in Dependent Day Care FSA instead of Health Care FSA and these exceptions will still be considered.
